As a convicted rapist, Leahy would be a candidate for the state's sex offender registry. But because of legal challenges, the registry board was blocked from processing cases until last year. As a result, only 1,000 of 18,000 offenders have been registered. He should have been in prison, not out on the street.

You never give a sex offender a second chance because everyone of them are repeat offenders. Limit their sex crimes as prison inmates and let those guys duke it out.

He should have been in prison, not out on the street. Cincy, in my opinion he should have been dead.
I'm one of those who has reservations about the death penalty- but I also had a girlfriend long ago who had been raped and nearly murdered. These creatures are almost always serial offenders who "just got unlucky enough to get caught" after attacking many women. And nobody on Earth knows how to "rehabilitate" them, either.

Criminals rule, in part because the Second Amendment rights have been oppressed. If Zapp had been armed, I have no doubt Leahy would have been another passing "bringing a knife to a gunfight" joke.
As for the policeman, O'Riley, why did he let Leahy out of that restroom alive? Leahy had a knife, there was a dead body on the floor, this LEO did not exercise good judgement in dealing with the perp. He should have blown him away.

This murder seems to be one of the best kept secrets up here.
This happened days ago but has gotten little media exposure.
Just a blip on the screen.

It began with motor vehicle violations, but the crimes quickly turned violent, and then sexual, after Leahy was convicted in 1984 of entering the home of a 13-year-old Brockton girl, forcing her into a bathroom at knifepoint, and assaulting her. He should have been given life in prison, with hard labor at this point. Bread, water, no medical care, no tv, no books and no hope for parole. It would haved saved Zapp's life and the anguish his other victims are still going through.

"He should have been in prison, not out on the street." Exactly! But try telling that to the liberal judges who believe these SEXUAL PREDATORS can be rehabilitated. This is just another example of how a known predator, (2 priors, one involving a minor) is coddled by a system that does NOT have the victims of crime truely at heart. Considering this is Massachusetts we're talking about here i'm guessing there are a lot more KNOWN, convicted sexual predators wandering about. And this is a state that does'nt want it's citizens to have the right to bear arms!! Go figure....

More guns, less rapists.

For any who might visit Massachusetts, a piece of advice:
Never, never, never visit Brockton.
It is a total snakepit.
A great way to catch sex offenders would be to have an attractive young girl walk down any street. The maggots would come out by the dozens.

I can't see how registering this rapist as a sex offender would have prevented this crime. This guy should have never been out of prison to begin with. Given his rap sheet, he should have been locked up for life long ago.

In Masssachusetss you may have a sex offender serve you breakfast put by law he can't get you eggs sunnyside up.

HORRIBLE!! The killer should be publicly disemboweled. Slowly. Every sex offender's head should be on a pike, at the mall.
Sorry, but.... you never NEVER NEVER stop ALONE at a place where you are in such a vulnerable position. And if it is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY that you do (and using the toilet is NOT such a time) you must have an adequate weapon IN YOUR HAND. Not in your purse, not in the car. Most people seldom pay attention, they just blithely go about like Smiley Pollyanna.

He should have been in prison, not out on the streetWRONG! He and all other sex offenders should be executed. Criminal psychologists say that sex offenders cannot be rehabilatated. I for one don't want to support them for the rest of their lives. They need to be put to death.
To: Cincinatus' Wife
As a result, only 1,000 of 18,000 offenders have been registered.Hmmm. 18000 sex offenders in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, but the Boston Globe spends all their time writing about the 30 or so priests accused of "pedophilia", most cases of which are consensual homosexual behavior with teens.
Apparantly the other 17,970 sexual predators belong to churches that approve of abortion, homosexuality, and other politically correct ideas and don't rate being mentioned in the Globe's editorial pages....

Why didn't the cop shoot him, right there on the spot?
To: Cincinatus' Wife
Alexandra should have pulled out her handgun and shot him, and then she should have walked around his body to be on her way. End of story, happy ending. The only inconvenience to the woman would be that she would have to clean her gun, and reload it, that night.
Every woman decides, must decide, if she wants to end up a bloody mess on a bathroom floor, or to get back on the highway. Those are the choices for every American woman.
