The gun control lobby that calls itself Americans for Gun Safety (AGS) is poised to move forward with its campaign of exploiting the terrorist attacks of September 11 in order to further its anti-Second Amendment agenda. AGS has shamelessly attempted to deceive the American public into believing that terroristswho are aided by renegade countries that support their murderous agenda with military arms and training, as well as millions of dollarsare shopping at your local gun shows right alongside law-abiding hunters, collectors, and those interested in personal protection. U.S. Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.)the foremost spokesman for AGS in the U.S. Senatehas teamed up with anti-gun U.S. Senators Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.), Joe Lieberman (D-Conn.), and Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), and we expect them to try to force a vote in the Senate on their anti-gun show bill, S. 890, some time in the next 2 weeks. S. 890 is designed to run gun shows out of business through a variety of registration and licensing schemes and is clearly the first step towards the true goal of banning all legal private sales, including those between friends and family.
It is critical that you contact your U.S. Senators today and urge them to oppose S. 890 when it is brought up for consideration. You can reach your U.S. Senators by calling the U.S. Senate switchboard at (202) 224-3121. Just ask for your Senators offices, or give the operator your state. For additional contact information, use our "Write Your Reps" tool.

I received a call from the NRA tonight saying that this bill will be brought to the Senate floor in the next couple of weeks. I hope everyone will contact their Senator and express your displeasure at this legislation. I have posted the information directly from the NRA site and provided their links for your convenience. With America facing terror threats daily, this is no time to lose our right to bear arms.

One more reason John McCain should be looking for a new line of work. How can a man who served his country now turn on it and betray it in its hour of need?

All I had to do was look at the co-sponsors to see how bad it is:
Sen Carper, Thomas R. - 5/15/2001
Sen Clinton, Hillary Rodham - 7/17/2001
Sen DeWine, Michael - 5/15/2001
Sen Lieberman, Joseph I. - 5/15/2001
Sen Schumer, Charles E. - 5/15/2001
Unfortunately, I already know how my Senators will vote on this - Allen: Against and Warner: In favor. They will be getting a call from me anyway. Thanks for the heads up.

John McLame is too busy trying to resurrect his tattered image (keating5) because he was the only Republican involved in campaign shenanigans (keating5). The 4 democrats who were his scummy cohorts have since left the Senate.(keating5) McLame's own legacy is more important to him than protecting the Constitution.

Oh great, that a$$wipe of mine DeWine is co-sponsoring it. No sense in sending him more mail, time to vote that worthless sack of it out.

You think you have worthless swine for your senators? I have Kennedy and Kerry. Now
that is worthless!!! I don't need to see another form letter.
The clueless AGS ought to realize that the American people are just too smart to think that terrorists will bother using relatively ineffectual guns when they have bombs and airplanes-turned-bombs to use. If the AGS is right, then the good and honest citizens of this country need all the guns they can get to defend themselves from roving bands of gun toting Arabs! Ol' Mohammed would be in a seriously losing position in my town!!
Come on down, Ali Baba, we'll "open your sesame!!!!"

Does anyone else believe that future terrorist attacks will involve the use of semi-automatic gun attacks in high populated places, therefore resulting in high casulties and massive cries for knee-jerk gun legislation, including outlawing and confiscation of firearms?
It sounds crazy, but think what the result will be if that happens. Americans are already perfectly fine about giving up their rights for lip-service BS disguised as security.
We need to put our heads together, (plan a pre-emptive strike if you will) and think of ways to nip this in the bud, before we wake up and find the Second Amendment stricken from the Constitution!

While I recognize that the anti's have had a great deal of sucess at the incremental destruction of the rights of gun owners, do they really think that those of us who understand the ramifications and history of gun confiscation and control will go quietly into the night?
These people are ultimately signing their own death warrant like all the other petty tyrants in history. I for one, will not live in this country without the second amendment, and I will go down fighting. I hope all traitors to this country will take heed of this, and realize that the line is about to be crossed, and there will be no going back. When the bloodshed starts, it will be on their hands.

Please do not abuse the state news feature. This is national news, not state news.

Please do not abuse the state news feature.Ahem! This is State news because if you care about defeating this legislation you have to contact your Senator -- the representative of your Stsate -- the only ones who can vote aye or nay. Get it?

Why aren't Boxer and Feinswine on that list of anti-Second Amendment bigots? Were they just too busy that day?

I got a call from the NRA as well. McCainiac has become the leading voice for sweeping gun control in the Senate.
Gee, sure hope that melanoma of his isn't catching up to him or anything. Sure would hate for a man to die of that horrible form of cancer.

Then pretty much every national issue is "state news" because we all have state representatives.
Try to be more judicious. This does not pertain to any particular state locality.

Thanks for the bump!
