FLORIDA HOME BUILDERS ASSOCIATION ENDORSES BUSH
ORLANDO - The Bush-Brogan 2002 campaign is pleased to announce the endorsement of the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA), an organization representing residential construction professionals throughout the state. The 15,000 members of the FHBA and their 300,000 employees contribute $40 billion annually to Floridas economy. The official announcement was made Friday during Governor Bushs visit to the FHBAs 2002 Southeast Building Conference in Orange County.
"A thriving building industry is a principle driver of Floridas economy," Bush said. "Lt. Governor Brogan and I have worked with Floridas builders to ensure that Floridians have access to safe, affordable housing and to cut government red tape. We are honored and privileged to once again have the endorsement of the FHBA."
"Governor Bush and Lt. Governor Brogan have been strong supporters of Floridas home builders since the start of their administration day one," FHBA President Barbara Revels said. "We look forward to doing all we can do to ensure that they are re-elected."
Governor Bush thanked Floridas Home Builders Association members for their help in passing new growth management reforms that will bring school boards, developers and local governments together to address school capacity and water availability in Floridas communities.
Governor Bush also spoke of his commitment to comprehensive reform of Floridas workers compensation system. In May of 2002, he created the Governors Commission on Workers Compensation Reform, which will provide recommendations on how to make workers compensation insurance affordable, speed up dispute resolution, and improve benefits for injured workers.
Fridays endorsement is the fifth in a series of endorsement announcements made by the campaign. Over the past two months, the Florida Professional Firefighters Association, the Fraternal Order of Police, the Police Benevolent Association, and most recently, the Florida Health Care Association have all endorsed the campaign.

I'll break out my list for another ENDORSEMENT FOR GOVERNOR JEB BUSH. Hang in there with me pingees. After Jeb wins in November, I'm retiring my Jeb pings so I can focus on the Daschle Democrat Watch ping list.
This is a great endorsement! FV

Housing prices must be going up in Florida if home builders are doubling as coffin builders.

You've not seen Jeb's tv spot with a Janet lookalike and McBride lookalike doing a song and dance on the issues. Janet shuffles off to Buffalo and McBride has a dark suit and black briefcase. They do the Charleston together and leave the state. Then, a closeup of Jeb - "leadership".
I still urge folks to contact Jeb's campaign staff with your input at this stage of the campaign. They are listening to us and lurking here. Hi, staffers. Visit www.jeb.org. FV

Oops, I meant they leave the "stage" in the tv spot not the "state". Guess that was a freudian slip. Wouldn't it be nice if they both did leave the state? After must see tv here in Florida - their upcoming ONE DEBATE. FV

Don't you know it has to be like a funeral at RENO campaign headquarters?

JEB rocks!
But I have a question maybe someone can clear up for me. In the above article this statement - ......,and improve benefits for injured workers.
I was injured twice while on the job. Here in Florida, Workman's Comp payed 100% of my medical bills and 100%+ of my income while injured. How do you improve that?
To: My Favorite Headache
Reno is not a threat. McBride is the threat.

I do hope they offered to build her a dog house, as a consolation.

Good for you.I on the other hand have been royally screwed by workmans compensation and still waiting for the hearing. It works for some and not for others.Trust me..2+yrs and going...I just had to change my life and how I lived it and worked.

It sounds like you had a good workers' comp carrier who took care of you as part of their company policy to avoid litigation. That's a good thing. Work comp used to only pay 66 2/3 wages and medical benefits. If a wc accident kills a worker, their beneficiary used to get $100K, no questions asked.
Knowing how Jeb is, I bet he is going to improve retraining for people who can't return to their former occupation. Kids aren't the only Floridians who need to learn. Hope you're all better. FV

I just saw that campaign ad, it is very funny. Jeb is coming to Sebring in Highlands Co Florida next Friday Aug 2 for two appearances one is 230pm-430pm (a freebie) at the civic center and then after that it is a $250.00 per person at the Little Theatre next door. Maybe Mark foley will be there too ,since he is our Rep.
