As a matter of fact, speaking of cookies.....I mixed up some chocolate chip cookie dough and am baking some as I sit here! Yummmmmmm! I love chocolate chip cookies! (or oatmeal, or sugar cookies, or cookie cookies.......!)

I AM native Texan - we lived for about a year in Louisiana. In SOUTHWEST Louisiana - Cajun Country. It was fun - LOVE DAT GUMBO!

I agree on the gumbo, jambalaya. And I make a great pot of either.

I'm not a seafood lover - prefer chicken gumbo to any of it, but I did eat some of the other stuff while there - made Shrimp Sauce Piquante a few times. The 'natives' made gumbo out of EVERYTHING! Redbird, blackbird, duck - everything! LOL

But, since I make it, I know what is in it. Chicken, fish and shrimp are fine and dandy for me.
