NEW (PROOF?) THAT THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT CONSPIRED IN ORDER TO GET TRAFICANT
email ^ | July 30, 2002 | Linda Kennedy

The information you are about to read is information that Congressman Traficant has had, which would help prove that there is a Department of Justice conspiracy against him, however, the Congressman would not release the information, as he was trying to protect Mr. James Leigh and his family. Both Mr. James Leigh, the operative in this story, and I, have had to convince Congressman Traficant to make this information public. I was just given permission by the Congressman this morning to utilize this story. Please publicize this far and wide including, but not limited to the biased media.

James Leigh is a very courageous government, under-cover operative, whose work single handedly lead to the United States issuing 11 indictments and making 4 convictions of high ranking foreign officials in China and Korea. The sting operation involved several unlawful immigration scams (unlawful human smuggling in exchange for a large fee) into the United States. The price received by the governments involved was $50,000 per head amounting to about $500,000,000. Mr. Leigh's assignment was named "Operation Squeezeplay" and the story can be found in several articles including one at: http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2002/7/23/175619.shtml. Mr. Leigh has also been involved in several other highly publicized covert operations involving national security, which can be found in the newspapers.

Mr. Leigh had given Congressman Traficant an affidavit and Congressman Traficant was told to use it to help prove that there is indeed a Department of Justice conspiracy against Congressman Traficant to expel him from Congress and to lock him up for life. Mr. Leigh states on 7/27/02 that:

"I provided an affidavit to Traficant, just this week and it proves that there was indeed a plan to go after him. I live under security concerns and asked Traficant not to use it unless it would really make a difference. I think he is holding back to protect my security but now he should be urged to bring the evidence forward and demand an inquiry and delay of proceedings. I'll back him and testify."

To really understand what is happening here, as Mr. Leigh was ready to close in on the entire illegal operation of the Chinese and Korean governments, Bill Clinton and Janet Reno suddenly put a stop to any further undercover work involving Operation Squeezeplay, and ordered the sting operation to cease and desist. Obviously, Mr. Leigh was very upset as he had risked his life, and was extremely close to busting this entire phony immigration scheme wide open. Even with the desist order, the United States was still able to convict four illegal smugglers out of the eleven indictments issued in Operation Squeezeplay.

Later, James Leigh requested that the United States Department of Justice provide him the protection they had promised he and his family in exchange for his risky undercover assignments he had accomplished on behalf of our country. In spite of their agreement to do so, The Department of Justice just ignored him and let Mr. Leigh and his family fend for themselves even though they had severely exposed themselves to increased danger for the United State's benefit. Thwarted at every turn, James Leigh then went to Congressman Traficant for assistance. From Mr. Leigh's own email to me dated 7/26/02, he states that:

"Traficant came out in the press demanding a Congressional hearing into Operation Squeezeplay and why Reno/Clinton shut it down. A the same time, I was meeting with Justice officials from [the] U.S. discussing what they would do to provide the security as promised to me and my family. They mentioned Traficant and said 'Don't count on Traficant, we're going to get him no matter what we have to do.' They further asked me to help them on that matter."

This discussion between Mr. Leigh and the Justice Department occurred before any indictment of Congressman Traficant was ever issued. Do you see this friends? Isn't this exactly what Traficant has been saying all along? Hasn't he been saying that Reno and the Justice Department have set this lynching up in advance? Did you hear Congresswoman S.T. Jones from Ohio, during expulsion hearings telling Congress to just ignore all the evidence and claims of judicial corruption and expel the Congressman anyway? Did you hear the prosecutor say that they had no direct evidence of Traficant's wrongdoing because Traficant was too good to have allowed for evidence? Did you hear jurors saying that they could tell that Judge Wells had marching orders? Did you hear another juror describe how he was unlawfully, and deceptively removed from the case with only one week left, and that he was a pro-Traficant juror? Did you hear a juror say, that after being allowed to hear all the evidence, he thinks Traficant is innocent?

Friends, did you see during the Congressional Expulsion vote that Traficant actually WON the oral motion to stay all expulsion proceedings until an investigation into these claims of corruption could be made, but Congressman Hefley insisted that in spite of the victory, that a written vote be taken? Hefley obviously knew that NOBODY in Congress would have the guts to write his or her name to stay the proceedings under such threat of retaliation. Not even those Congressmen who raised the motion to stay the proceedings were willing to put it in writing? Can anyone else put two and two together here? Can you see that the Congressional majority who wanted to stay the proceedings were so afraid of the Justice Department that they would not even write down their names in fear of being next? Do we now see who is running our country? Anyone else have any doubt why these rogue courts of ours, can freely ignore the law and the facts when their own Justice Department has put such fear into our cowardly Congress, the alleged judicial overseer, that not a one of them was willing to write his or her name next to Traficant's to stay the motion to expel?

Finally, on July 25, 2002, Mr. Leigh writes:

"Traficant is being noble by withholding my affidavit that can save his ass. He is protecting me and my family's security. Urge him to use the Canadian former US. Justice operatives information. It proves there was a conspiracy within the Justice Department to nail him. I have urged him to go ahead . . ."

And on July 26, 2002, Mr. Leigh states that the Justice Department

". . . basically left my family and I out in the cold to fend for ourselves [concerned about being exposed]. . . I'm willing to take that chance. Traficant went to bat for me when I needed him, so I guess its time for me to do the same."

It sounds like Traficant is a lot more noble than the biased media would have one think. We need to get this story out to everyone including the biased media fast. Traficant's sentencing is tomorrow, Tuesday, July 30, 2002, and the public needs to know that there is yet more credible proof of a conspiracy by Judge Wells, and the Justice Department aimed at getting Traficant, along with a cowering Congress too fearful to stop it, before this sentencing.

Thanks to American liberties association for helping break this story, but also for keeping it confidential as lives could be at stake in this matter.

The price received by the governments involved was $50,000 per head amounting to about $500,000,000.

Depending on how you read it, it means from 5,000 to 10,000 illegal immigrants were muled into the country, including from the axis of evil and its semi-buddy. Imagine how many Muslims could be shuttled for the revenue from one day's oil revenues....

I wish FREEPERS would send this story to their local newspapers, follow up with the papers and keep it hot, make it as public as possible. This could break the whole cabal.

Thank you.

All of this support for Trafficant kind of galls me. I don't like Janet Reno any more than most anyone else on this forum, but that doesn't make Traffcant right in what he has done.

One of the problems any political group has is their staunch support of someone, just because that someone is supposedly on their side. This type of unwavering support is one reason the conservatives have such a low support level in the general population.

Trafficant is a bad apple in a barrel of bad apples, and it is right that he was drummed out of the House.

Others have questioned whether the judge who passed sentence on him in excess of the prosecution's request was legitimate. IMHO, after reading portions of transcripts of what he said during his sentencing hearing, the judge was certainly within bounds. The guy is loony, and should not be representing his constituents in Congress.

Now if we could only get rid of about 300 more, perhaps we could achieve some worthwhile goals...

It won't happen Cynic No More unless you call your senators and congresscritter and tell them to get off of their butts and make it right. The least they can do is to take action on the obvious blatant miscarraige of justice of leaving Torricelli in the Senate. Tell them to demand that he be removed. The Briber is in jail for illegal campaign contributions to Torricelli time now for the Bribee to lose his job. It is documented Torricelli got money and David Chang got lots of access!!! This is called influence peddling and it is a CRIME.

I'd like to see a copy of the actual affidavit. Of course, affidavits mean squat in court because the person who exercised the affidavit can't be cross-examined.

conservatives have such a low support level in the general population (YOUR OBSERVATION ONLY, FRIEND!) because of media manipulation of facts, manipulation of American History by the teachers unions who are mostly liberal, propaganda, skewed statistics, and by just hammering some issues (like homosexual issues) untill the "general population" is sick and tired of hearing GAY THIS GAY THAT GAY GAY HOMO GAY GAY HOMO RIGHTS GAY GAY where we just say SHUT UP ALREADY!!!!!

The guy is loony, and should not be representing his constituents in Congress.

he may be looney, but who are you to say who can represent that district!?!?!? He kept getting voted in, didn't he? I'd say he is fit to represent his constituents in congress if they say he represents them, and they have, TIME AND AGAIN, just by voting him in!

with all due respect, I don't think your arguements hold water.

Your response put into words my thoughts. This guy is a bad apple in a barrel of bad apples. And you are right, too many here hitch their wagons to those who opposed Clinton, Reno, etal. without really looking at who those who were providing opposition really were. Then they get defensive and join the "Janet Reno is railroading me bandwagon."

That argument fell on deaf ears long ago for me. It's been the Bush administration, justice department, prosecutor and IRS which has allowed the prosecution of Trafficant to go forward. If there was nothing there, they could have long ago pulled the rug out from under this case.

I can see the AP Article now... Headline "Bush protects alleged crook Congressman

Intro: Today President Bush and his Justice Department under John Ashcroft dropped the governments case against alleged criminal James Traficant a consevative Democrat who voted for Republican Speaker Hastert alienating his own party.

Heck, I could write for the AP.

"Trafficant is a bad apple in a barrel of bad apples, and it is right that he was drummed out of the House."

No doubt, but what galls many others is the way he was drummed out of the House. A metaphor would be a jury of rapists sentencing someone to death after they convicted him of giving a woman a dirty look.

It kind of epitomizes the essence of the whole log-mote-eye business. "Hypocrisy" is really too mild a word for the process.

"conservatives have such a low support level in the general population (YOUR OBSERVATION ONLY, FRIEND!)"

I think there's a little more to this argument than just my observation. When is the last time a truly conservative had enough votes to be in the national spotlight? Barry Goldwater in his presidential run? Ever since then, the astute politicians have known that they have to be middle of the road to get the populace to vote for them.

"... he may be looney, but who are you to say who can represent that district!?!?!? He kept getting voted in, didn't he?"

If getting voted in was the only measure of qualification, then we should have let Bill Clinton run again in 2000,'cuz he got voted in again in '96 when I am convinced he wasn't qualified for the job. His actions, particularly with regards this country's security, demonstrate his lack of qualifications. And our newest Senator from New York? Nothing more needs to be stated to dispute that point - game, set, match.

And with regards Trafficant's continuing to be voted into office, did his illegal actions have anything to do with any constituency groups' actions in drumming up support for his re-elections? Did their efforts result in enough votes that these folks "knew" they had bought him and the price of their payment was putting him back into office?

"... with all due respect, I don't think your arguements hold water... I'd say he is fit to represent his constituents in congress if they say he represents them, and they have, TIME AND AGAIN, just by voting him in!"

Sorry I struck such a nerve. When you ask "just who are you", I think I have as valid an opinion as anyone else out there. But, to remove the personal animosity from this discussion, I'll simply state that our Congress is only a dishonorable place because it has dishonorable people occupying it. Now the number of dishonorable people is reduced by one. We only have about 300 more to go.

With all due respect, I think your counter-arguments leak like a sieve.

So your premise is that the Bush administration did nothing about justice and allowed Trafficant to be prosecuted in order to avoid damaging headlines?

I would hope and believe that the administrations ethics are higher than this. Your screen name would indicate the same.

And frankly, this case was prosecuted with every intent to win the case. Seems there are/were items that were prosecutable.

No, me thinks the Bush justice department saw enough to proceed forward with prosecution and did so vigoriously. Like they should/would any other case.

Bush isn't one to spend political capital....at least as far as I have seen. I believe this case had no interest to him and he let the career Justice Department employees do there job without interference. In his hands-off MBA CEO style.

Can't say I blame him.

I'm not saying that this is something GWB would be involved in "hands on." I'm talking a high profile case where a department that falls under his direct responsibility and has a cabinet officer reporting to him. Wouldn't those who are loyal to him "kill" such a proceeding, assuming it was a Reno witch hunt? Especially if there were a high probabiliity of it being overturned in the appeals process?

No, I can't see dubya or his handlers and cabinet folks exposing him to a overturned decision. And frankly, with a high profile legal matter, I can't see them falling onthe wrong side of law period. That gives him as much of a black eye as your AP potential headline.

"with all due respect, I don't think your arguements hold water."

Now that the results are in for Georgia's primary, the extremists (Republican Bob Barr, Democrat Cynthia McKinney) have to look for other jobs. This is more evidence of the validity of my previous statements.

We have a changing paradigm here in the U.S.A. Voters are not going to keep putting these extremists in office. That's why President Bush has to prioritize his issues; he has to be very selective regarding those on which he spends his political capital.

The major, highest priority, issue for the immediate future is the fall election, especially the Senatorial campaigns. This is the only way the Daschle-orchestrated obstruction to the judicial confirmation process can be overcome.

The opposition is counting on alienating Bush's far-right supporters, so that they will either vote against the Republican Party candidates, or not show up to vote at all. Either result will keep the Democrats in control of the Senate.

Bush is a good man, with honorable, non-egocentric values. Let's all help him do his job better, by returning the Senate to the Republicans.
