backyard?

Well, some people just want the energy to appear out of thin air. I actually like the look of the windfarms, they're kind of graceful...

Of course, they are all willing to declare forest maintainance a waste of natural resources and dangerous to the environment.
Hmmm

Who is going to be the author of the month with the new edition of "Eating Their Own, Enviros Enjoy Eating Their Own Two-Legged Home Grown Greens", also known as the "Carnivores Revenge"...?

They have windmills in California too. Bald eagles and other winged endangered species fly into the blades and end up getting killed.

Fossil fuels are bad because it funds the terrorists and the Republicans (like Cheney and Bush). Nuclear power is out of the question because of extreme risk to the environment, despite the fact such an accident has never happened. Windpower harms the views, and burning wood chops down our old growth forests. Burning whale oil is out because they're endangered, and solar is out because making the cells generates toxic waste from the processing chemicals. Hydroelectric is out because damming the rivers floods wildlife habitats (and gorgeous gorges). Geothermal is out since putting plants in national monuments like Yellowstone would harm the natural beauty. Wave power harms seals and sea lions, while burning garbage releases toxins in the air.
Tell me, how are the liberals supposed to heat their frappucino lattes?

Silly Cape Codians....who wouldn't want a wind farm in their backyard? A Nuclear Power Plant could generate ten times the amount of power in the same amount of space and if the site was well chosen you might not even know it was there.
And with Nuclear there would be no damaging our environment, damaging human health, damaging wildlife...spreading all kinds of mercury and coal dust

The Alliance to Protect Nantucket Sound says they're not opposed to wind farms. They'd just like to be able to tell the developers where to put them. Yep, and the twits would probably demand they be put on the leeward side of mountains, forests, hills, and islands.
To: Utah Girl
Gee we can't use fossil fuels because that damages the environment, wind farms and I suppose solar farms are too distracting from the scenary..how about a nice clean and efficient nuclear plant.
To: Utah Girl
"Every time we turn on the light, we send a signal to a power plant to burn more fossil fuel, which we know is damaging our environment, damaging human health, damaging wildlife," said Mark Rodgers of the Cape Wind Associates. Who the hell becomes a member of the "Cape Wind Associates"? Obviously someone who blathers out idiotic statements like the one above.
We have too much time on our hands in this country.

Let's face it, the liberals and enviro-nazis are all a bunch of children who want the energy needed to turn on their lights and drive their cars....They just don't want to do what it takes to get it.

No wind farms in my backyard but wall to wall mansions are OK? I will take these nymby enviros serious when they stop ruining the pristine beaches of Long Island and Nantucket with their McMansions.

I love it when lefties find out (the hard way) that their own solutions don't work.

Yep, and during the power crisis last year in CA, some of those windmills were turned off because the birds were getting killed. There is a trade-off in any energy situation, the enviros must decided what they don't want to happen. Except most of them want us to live in tents without any power or conveniences, live like the Native Americans of days gone by...
To: coloradan
LOL, is this a trick question? :) The enviros want to have their latte and drink it too...
To: AAABEST
Maybe they need a counter organization:
Breaking Wind Association of Cape Cod. I think there is a big issue being ignored by the Greens. Wind farms tend to osterize birds in flight. I believe that area is near one of the great corridors for bird migration. (Cape May seems to have that distinction. Bird lovers will correct me about the details, I'm sure.) I cannot see why Greens would want to put up wind-driven choppers in the air when so many birds are around. It would be great for sharks, nice bloody meaty water. Yum. But not good for the birds.

Chernobyl, Three Mile Island...Chernobyl: We don't build plants like that. "It can't happen here."
TMI: A good example of what happens to the environment when a serious accident with multiple screw-ups in succession are done in an American plant: a tiny amount of radiation leaks, no injuries, no fatalities, no serious damage to the environment. Compare that to the cost of a single tanker leak, or a single well fire. Nuclear power is much safer than any other technology, but the environazis just won't have any of it - despite the fact it is the best thing we could possibly do for the environment.
To: AAABEST
No, you have it wrong, wind power is the answer for these green wachos, in fact ALL of Mass. should be made into a big wind farm.
