Forest Service Cancels Logging Project
Plan To Log Part Of White Mountain Forest Dropped
POSTED: 2:08 p.m. EDT August 5, 2002 UPDATED: 2:23 p.m. EDT August 5, 2002
LACONIA, N.H. -- The National Forest Service has withdrawn a plan to log part of the White Mountain National Forest because of a successful challenge by an environmental group.
The Conservation Action Project appealed the logging plan to the Forest Service's regional forester in Wisconsin, which reversed the project's approval. He said the White Mountain National Forest had not analyzed the effects of timber sale would have on wildlife.
The group says the logging and timber sale in Thornton and Livermore, N.H., were approved illegally in the first place.
It's the second time in a month the Forest Service has reversed itself on a timber sale. Earlier, White Mountain National Forest officials withdrew plans for another sale after reviewing a lawsuit about its environmental impact.

What is the Bush government going to do? Are they going to show that they have a pair, and stop this nonsense of ngo's writing policy? I hope so.

stop this nonsense of ngo's writing policy? Class-action lawsuits. Stop them, they are being abused.

What is the Bush government going to do? Are they going to show that they have a pair, and stop this nonsense of ngo's writing policy?Surely you can't be serious. That question was settled long ago when the Klamath farmers asked for help.
Regarding the environment, Bush = AlGore.

Sad business from the "Live Free or Die" state. Bumping for when you return.

It's time for a class-action suit against the envirals that are keeping the courts full and the Feds busy full time fighting them. They send out mass-mailings to their vast enviral hive...."how to file a citizen law suit" providing talking points and forms. It's time we gave back to them what they're doing to us.

Would anybody like to take any bets this will be another one of the areas which succumbs to a devastating fire? Will these people never learn? And ... after the fire, what will happen to their precious animals?? They'll be DEAD!! These people are so ignorant!
