During the business segment at ten to the hour on NPRs Monring Edition, they had a story that revealed that the Clinton SEC virtually stopped regulating the IPO market until late 1999. The private sector NASDAQ did not enforce their rules any better because both organizations saw a steady decline in IPO fraud, kickback and other white-collar crime enforcement since 1990 despite the skyrocketing number of IPOs during the Dot.com era. These two organizations were completey blind (or purposely blinded) to the behavior going on Wall Street at the time, the public is just now learning about some of the most filthy white-collar crimes now being investigated that border on bribery.
The most significant example of this type of corruption is that Bernie Ebbers, the former CEO of Worldcom, is being investigated for receiving three million pre-IPO shares into his personal brokerage account from Goldman Sachs in exchange for Worldcom corporate stock and bond sales.
The story went on to say that the Wall Street corruption was not limited to Goldman Sachs but others like Merrill Lynch, Credit Swiss Boston, and Citibank to name a few.
I regret that NPR does not have a direct link to this section of their newsbroadcast however, you can checkout the audio stream at www.npr.org if you want to listen to it yourself.
I am quite surprised to hear this and additional information (see link http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/725271/posts ) coming out in NPR. Is someone is airing dirty laudry?

One minute the neocons are giving credit to the actions of the republican congress/senate for the boom of the 90's and the next minute they're blaming the klintoon administration for the problems. Anybody ever think both parties might be a bunch of crooks enabling the pump and dump NWO boys?

This fraud was not perpetrated on us by NWO........it was perpetrated by WALL ST.
It's falling apart because Secretary O'Neil is HONEST.

I'm also curious about Ann Bingaminn's (sp) role. Wasn't she in charge of some enforcement at Justice or SEC. She is the wife of Sen Bingaminn (D) NM

CPT, I wouldn't know however, I would check with Alamo-Girl as she has the most extensive "museum" of Clinton-crud on the net.
Nothing would surprise me with this crowd considering the ongoing Senator Daschel / Mrs. Daschel House lobbying charade still in progress.

Rob Rubin was offering IPOs to groups that would buy other stock and drive up the price. I believe the practice is called "laddering".

Dead,
And correct me if I am wrong - isn't "laddering" 100% illegal and / or unethical regardless who's President?
This may be yet another reason why Rubin will not be asked to testify anytime soon. In the extremely remote chance that he does, he will plead the 5th. Just like so many Clintoids before him...

Anne Bingaman was assistant attorney general for the Antitrust Division, Department of Justice. Other Bingaman items on the DSL:
In 1995, President Clinton signed Executive Order 12964 establishing the Commission on United States-Pacific Trade and Investment Policy. The purpose of the Commission was to study trade between the United States and Asian countries, and to recommend ways to improve access of American companies to those markets. The Commission was commonly referred to as the Bingaman Commission, in honor of Senator Jeff Bingaman of New Mexico. A list of recommended candidates had to be cleared with Mickey Kantor, then the United States Trade Representative. After Kantor had cleared the recommended candidates, the list would be provided to the White House. The Office of Presidential Personnel would then review the list, and submit it to the President for his approval. According to one USTR official, the President was "sometimes active and nixe[d] or change[d] names" of candidates. On February 20, 1996, Lei Chu, Tries advisor on the Bingaman Commission, established a checking account with an initial cash deposit of $12,520.00. On that same day, Chu issued the first check ever written on that accountin the amount of $12,500 to the DNC in conjunction with the Hay Adams fund-raiser. Lei Chu attended the February 19, 1996 fundraiser at the Hay Adams Hotel with Charlie Trie. She also attended a breakfast with Vice President Gore the following day at the Hay Adams. http://www.house.gov/reform/reports/fundraising/4b_trie.htm

No, catch it again and send it to Tom Daschle's swimming pool.

Absolutely.
Liebermans entire joke of a presidential candidacy is hinging on demonizing the Republicans over ethics and portraying himself as a beacon of integrity.
Rubin, and Liebermans attempts to shield him from questions, throws a huge monkey wrench into that lame plan.
