I hesitate to admit, I'm choosing a Democrat primary ballot this season, so I can vote ABC - Anybody But Cynthia (McKinney).

Wow that was close, even the #3 was close behind.
How did they rate as far as conservative vs moderate?

Here in KS we had good results with true conservatives winning out over moderates in most races. Best of all, we got a conservative Gov candidate, that has promised no new taxes and is pro 2nd amendment.

In the past, the legislation sent conceal varry to our moderate governor who vetoed it. I hope this is one of the first bills sent to him (if he wins).

All 6 ran as conservative and I happen to know all of them as this race was in my county(I'm in the other Livingston District). I'm glad I didn't have to vote in this primary since I'd have a tough choice to make since all bring something to this race. All are pro-life and pro-gun. At least one of them reads this board as well.

No RINOs in this race.

My decision was not difficult at all here, with every race having one or two moderates against a single conservative.

Does one vote make a difference? - Depends how many others are voting too. Can't hurt to try though!

Close, but until they can count accurate to one vote, I would have to say no. Anyone want to bet that the recount will be off by more than one vote?

The probability that a vote has impact declines with the
number of votes cast. In a primary for state rep, with
the winner getting 1800 votes, you're going to see one vote
differences from time to time. In a race for school president
at a small school, with the winner getting maybe 20 votes,
it will happen frequently. When you come to Senator of a state
or President, however, you won't see it in your lifetime.

What about absentee votes? I notice at the top of the results banner it says "Wayne Co reporting w/o absentees". Unless I am misunderstanding, it would seem the results are going to change when they count those absentee ballots (unless there aren't any!). If there are absentee ballots, when would those be counted?

Tell us about this KS Democrat that the media is toutng as the likely next governor. The media is saying that the new GOP gubernatorial candidate is "too conservative," even for KS, which usually elects "moderate" governors. Sam Brownback is seen as a KS aberration.

The demo candidate in KS for Governor is a woman, Kathleen Sebelius. She has been Kansas Insurance Commissioner for the past seven years.

I'm sure she will appeal to the soccer mom crowd and we are in store for ads telling us how Shallenberger, the conservative, will put their children "at risk" (i.e. no tax increases) and anti-gun rhetoric. In other words, the usual democratic fear mongering on issues.

Conservatives will have to work hard to get a share of the female vote.

Where did you read that he was "too conservative" even for KS?

The criticism of the Republican gubernatorial nominee in KS may have been an AP story questioning if KS voters are "that conservative." AP contended that KS is leaning toward the "moderate" Democrat woman, who has the "soccer moms" in her column.
