I took this photo near Sonora, Texas, on I-10, where the interstate cut through this mountain. The flag, flying so high above us, was just overwhelmingly beautiful!

'Morning, All. Today you may notice the top part of the thread is somewhat shorter.....I separated the groups of Armed Forces photos (there are 9 groups, soon to be 10) into two different groups, and we'll be posting each group every OTHER day. It should make the thread load faster, but still keep the Finest of our Armed Forces in front.

Thank you for visiting, and please come see today's FReeper in the Spotlight!

Mornin' ya'll !
Hey, Smiley, let's show everyone the biggest flag pole in the U.S. !.......
(Courtesy Mr. COB!)

This flag (in Laredo, Texas) was completed Sunday May 26,
2002, just in time for Memorial Day. It is the tallest flagpole
in the United States. It is 308 feet tall, weighs 52 tons, and
flies a 100-foot by 50-foot flag. It cost $300,000, which was
paid for by The Laredo National Bank.

Allll right! How wonderful! Congratulations, Dixie Sass to a true GRIT (Girl raised in the South) and a Free Republic LEADER extraordinaire!

I was always sorry I could not attend the Charleston meeting but enjoyed reading all about it.

Same with the inaugural ball. What an amazing time that was!

Your love of our country, its founding ideals, and your determination to oppose those who would destroy it all - shine through in all you do!

What a privilege to "know" you here on FR and one day, I know, we will meet in person!!!

God bless you, SISTAH!

Dixie, pink seems to be such a good color for you (as evidenced in that second photo, left), I made this logo for you.

Your picture - with the Pledge - in post#1 - with that flag - is so beautiful. All the Pledge graphics are - but that one especially! Thanks, Billie.

Another beautiful scene from Myrtle Beach:

The biggest and best project that the Chapter has taken on is the Bill of Rights Day function headed by Citizenx7. We are going into our third year with it and he has done a stupendous job. We have awarded two children, one middle school (public) and one Eagle Scout $500 dollar bonds for the essay's that they have written.

This is awesome. The whole list of accomplishments is awesome, Dixie Sass.

How wonderful to learn more about you today, and how wonderful that fellow FReepers recognize the honor that is your due, today and ALWAYS, for being an involved American, a positive Patriot, a tireless government oversight committee of one!, and an example to us all.

Wow. Thank you for all you do, for Free Republic, for America, for your hometown and state. Thank you, too, for what you have done for me today in sharing your story.

FReegards to you, Billie and DaisyScarlett!

I talked to whoever last night...

Her DSL software got corrupted, so as soon as she receives and installs the new software, she'll be back here to bless/aggravate us.

Carry on!
