KeepAndBearArms.com -- The anti-self-defense fanatics are in full swing on college campuses around the country. The Boston Globe recently aired a current guns-on-campus battle in Utah, and Arizona State University in Tempe has a group of college children vilifying self-defense there, too. Numerous other campus do-gooders are working to eliminate the basic human right of self-defense around the country.
Do any of these gun-phobes know that "about 3 percent of college women experience a completed and/or attempted rape during a typical college year"? That statement comes from an official press release regarding a report entitled "Sexual Victimization of College Women", produced by the National Institute of Justice and the Bureau of Justice Statistics.
It also states "About one in five rape and attempted rape incidents of college women results in additional injury, most often 'bruises, black eyes, cuts, swelling or chipped teeth'." That can sure change a woman's outlook on her studies. And lots of college women are having their outlooks so changed, too. According to the authors of the above-mentioned report, "the women at a college that has 10,000 female students could experience more than 350 rapes a year."
Yet the anti-gun college campus frenzy has reached a new trough of politically correct depravity: a college professor was recently forced to remove an antique firearm from his office wall. The outdated rifle was given to him as a gift and had been collecting dust above his desk for over a decade -- but it made someone "uncomfortable." Perhaps not as uncomfortable as bruises, black eyes, cuts, swelling or chipped teeth, but enough to force the removal of the unloaded assault musket, nonetheless.
The NIJ/BJS report also states that "nearly 90 percent of the victims knew the offender." One wonders if the anti-self defense fanatics get any comfort from this. After all, if you don't suffer "bruises, black eyes, cuts, swelling or chipped teeth" like 20% of all sexually assaulted college women, what's the problem?
And just think about the terrible alternative: what if potential college rape victims were trained to effectively and efficiently use a handgun to prevent being raped? Why, somebody might get hurt!

Obviously they opppose guns in private hands because the ability to defend oneself and even overthrough the government is contrary to their aims. They seek powerless pawns to rule.
Know what? These idiots are still anti-self defense! The worse part of it is that they are raising their kids in the same 'just relax cause it's inevitable' victim mentality.
I just shake my head in bewilderment at this stuff.

To those college administrators who bend over for the whiners who demand political correctness over the rights of others, be warned, if your students are raped, mugged etc. and cannot defend themselves, the college administrators will have to shoulder the blame.
If it weren't so tragic, it would be funny, many of the students will be carrying weapons into the War on Terrorism fairly soon.
Appear in front of the U-U president with enough females to represent 3% of the student population and point out that he is condemning them to be raped in the next year by making them disarmed victims.
Then point out that this many women will be raped every year until things change.

Ok, there's something a bit fishy with this logic...first post says: 3% of college girls experience rape or attempted rape in a year. This post describes three women without enough sense to avoid drunken frat boys.
If 3% of college women are dumb enough to go drinking with frat boys when they do not want to have sex with them, they are certainly too dumb to be trusted with guns. I have to wonder what the heck they're doing in college in the first place. I thought they had admissions standards to weed out morons.
P.S. I am NOT in favor of gun siezure laws. However, I don't want to be hanging out with a whole pack of heavily armed morons.
Although I became a life member years ago, I can no longer advocate joining them. They are too compromising and they actually supported CARA not too long ago. Gun Owners of America (GOA) and Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (JPFO) are much stauncher supporters of RKABA. Note: You do not not have to be Jewish to join JPFO.
That's not really the issue though, no one is advocating mandatory arming of coeds or drunks. The issue is whether a responsible individual (and CCW regulations weeds them out pretty well) should be allowed to be armed. And the deterrent effect that one or two individuals out of a hundred have on violent criminals.
Perhaps some of them were working on their MRS degree?
