Statists and other authoritarians fear personal power because it makes the individual less dependent upon the state. They favor confiscatory taxes because personal wealth is power. They dislike home schooloing because the ability to instill personal values in children is a way to avoid the culture of statism.
Obviously they opppose guns in private hands because the ability to defend oneself and even overthrough the government is contrary to their aims. They seek powerless pawns to rule.

Statists love humanity but hate mankind.

A female 'friend' of mine was a freshman at college who went to some frat party hosted by seniors (what a scam they have going there, huh?) and was forced to perform oral sex on one of them. My ex-sister-in-law was at a similiar function, got too drunk and was raped. A girl I went to high school with was gang-raped by a bunch of frat boys at a party.
Know what? These idiots are still anti-self defense! The worse part of it is that they are raising their kids in the same 'just relax cause it's inevitable' victim mentality.
I just shake my head in bewilderment at this stuff.

So Political Correctness still reigns across the land. Were I that professor with the antique gun, I would have demanded
my rights also, that he didn't makes it harder for the rest of us.
If you have not please join the NRA and go to this site and join up...http://www.KeepAndBearArms.com/
To those college administrators who bend over for the whiners who demand political correctness over the rights of others, be warned, if your students are raped, mugged etc. and cannot defend themselves, the college administrators will have to shoulder the blame.
If it weren't so tragic, it would be funny, many of the students will be carrying weapons into the War on Terrorism fairly soon.

Precisely. It is all about the Nitzschean Wille-zur-Macht of the leftist elites. Politicians love unarmed peasants.

I see a wonderful photo-op:
Appear in front of the U-U president with enough females to represent 3% of the student population and point out that he is condemning them to be raped in the next year by making them disarmed victims.
Then point out that this many women will be raped every year until things change.

Ok, there's something a bit fishy with this logic...first post says: 3% of college girls experience rape or attempted rape in a year. This post describes three women without enough sense to avoid drunken frat boys.
If 3% of college women are dumb enough to go drinking with frat boys when they do not want to have sex with them, they are certainly too dumb to be trusted with guns. I have to wonder what the heck they're doing in college in the first place. I thought they had admissions standards to weed out morons.
P.S. I am NOT in favor of gun siezure laws. However, I don't want to be hanging out with a whole pack of heavily armed morons.

Well-spoken! These thoughts are at the very core of things that are happening today.
You could also point out that statists (and leftists of all stripes) hate themselves as well.

It all goes back to a victim who doesn't resist being considered morally superior to one who does. The former would have the sympathey of the NOW types, while the latter would be reviled by them. Can't have women give up that victimhood status so cherished by the Rats.

If you have not please join the NRA and go to this site and join up...http://www.KeepAndBearArms.com/ Although I became a life member years ago, I can no longer advocate joining them. They are too compromising and they actually supported CARA not too long ago. Gun Owners of America (GOA) and Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (JPFO) are much stauncher supporters of RKABA. Note: You do not not have to be Jewish to join JPFO.

"You do not not have to be Jewish to join JPFO"
They also accept NRA members. My point is one does not, in fact must not, choose which of these groups to support. Support 'em all, and walk away from the infighting.

If you think all rapes on campus are the result of drinking "parties" you're dreaming. It's a violent crime, that's all too common. And in Looking4Truth's examples, the fact that a girl is drunk does not excuse the commission of a violent crime, any more than mugging a drunk does.
That's not really the issue though, no one is advocating mandatory arming of coeds or drunks. The issue is whether a responsible individual (and CCW regulations weeds them out pretty well) should be allowed to be armed. And the deterrent effect that one or two individuals out of a hundred have on violent criminals.

Oh, goody. Another one.
OK, tell me one single solitary gun Bill that the GOA has stopped.
You're the tenth person so far that I have asked and haven't received an answer.
Take your time.
P.S. The NRA stopped a Florida trigger lock law a couple of months ago.

This post describes three women without enough sense to avoid drunken frat boys. Perhaps some of them were working on their MRS degree?
