Are you concerned about our nation's porous borders? It's a fair question, and I think that it is one that nearly everyone can answer. Please provide your opinion and why you feel one way or the other?

I, myself, am very concerned about illegal immigration, as it is a piece of the puzzle in the destruction of America. Similar to taxes, abortion, sexual degneracy, centralized government, and the UN/IMF/WTO, which represent the destructive factors on the economic, moral, social, constitutional and sovereignty factors, illegal immigration is a destructive factor in terms of the cultural component. With the damage that illegal immigration is doing to America on the economic, social, cultural and demographic fronts, it is easy to see that this issue needs to be addressed.

I also happen to think that the entire immigration system needs to be reformed, accompanied with a moratorium of ten to twenty years.

What's your opinion?

In all honesty, I think we should shut the borders down, LOCK them down, build a fricking wall if that is what it takes.

NOT one illegal, legal immigration? Bring it on, but if you are an illegal, not only are you out of here, you are never gonna get across again.

Yes, Illegal immigration is destroying us, and by the time mexico annexs the southwest, the entire population will be mexican anyway. Time to a put a stop to it, and I don't mean just plugging the dam, I mean to take out the ones that are already here. Deportation, you are outta here!!

You have mixed two issues; legal and illegal immigration. Both are serious subjects but will be hopelessly confused on this thread. Your statement about a moratorium on immigration suggests more than reform of our immigration laws.

We have only what we tolerate.Tell your Congress person how you feel. Keep it short. Let him/her know you care and are watching. Just say "No".

I believe anyone and everyone here illegally must be made to leave. No exceptions! Let them get back in line for a visa in their home country.

When anyone from another country comes to the US on a visa, we should take possession of their passport and give them a card with their picture on it. That way we will know who came in, who went home, and who did not leave on time. Get caught without the card and you are outta here. Any questions?

I disagree with the moratorium, but agree with everything else you said. It's all about the destruction of America by the tyrannical parasites.

Thanks to the murderous abortionists and their culture of death, we need immigrants to continue to grow as a nation.

If done correctly, this can be a good thing since many immigrants value their Rights more than native-born Americans. Most of them have suffered under tyranny and seek out America as a refuge from the parasites. They would like to come here and live in Freedom, while earning an honest living and providing for their families. These are the folks we need to let into the country.

Instead, we are keeping them out and letting in the welfare sluts, the illiterates, the criminals, and the parasites.

The current system is a recipe for disaster. If a system could be devised that would "screen" immigrants and only let in those loyal to our Constitution, willing to work for a living, and anxious to assimilate into American culture, then it would be a great benefit to our nation.

Illegal immigration is one of the America's most serious problems. In fact, the vast majority of American's are opposed to amnesty for all immigrants currently living in the USA.

With the increased threats of terrorism since 9-11, it would have been a wise move to freeze all immigration and impose a one to two year moratorium, until the feds were able to get a better handle on legal immigration and border security issues. Instead, the Bush administration has done little to stop illegal immigration into the US. Illegal border crossings should not be condoned by the people elected to represent the best interests of the American people.

Just as concered as I am about my fellow countrymen who don't see, or are unwilling to resolve, the border problem.

If nothing is done, we who live in the Southwest (Occupied Atzlan) will have to learn to speak Spanish to survive here.

Yes, I am extremely concerned. Concerned, frustrated, scared, angry and horrified. I live in an area that has been heavily impacted by illegal immigration. It has had a devastating effect on the schools, the crime, the County hospitals, the roads, the traffic, gangs, graffiti, and many other areas.

Well, both need to be addressed. Illegal Immigration must be stopped, and legal immigration must be reformed. However, before newly adopted reform measures are implemented, we need to have an immigration moratorium of ten to twenty years.

I used to care. It's too late now for southern California, so there's no point in it.

Illegal immigration costs the USA over 24 billion dollars a year. almost 1/4 of all those in prison are illegal immigrants.

Why should an illegal immigrant be allowed to have a baby here and than that kid gets welfare for years! That is NUTS!

Time to pull the troops from Europe and guard our southern border! If the world doesn't like it too damn bad.

Exactly. I absolutely can't believe that we are taking these steps to protect our airplanes, when in reality they probably wouldn't try the same thing twice, but in the meantime we have done nothing to keep the illegals out and off our welfare rolls.

That doesn't mean that it is too late for the rest of the country. You sound defeated, like one of those individuals who don't care if it is not effecting you, or who don't want to get involved unless your area can be turned around. That is, unless you're being sarcastic. You've been one of the most outspoken critics of illegal immigration. Don't tell me that you're doing a 180.

No, not really. I have a longer and more relaxed time horizon than most. I still think assimilation is alive and well. The birth rate is Latin America has collapsed, so this is yerterday's news. Having said that, welfare for illegals should be a low priority, and we should police our borders more, and punish employers more that hire illegals. But in the end, I don't think the failure to do any of the above will matter too much in the long term. This is a resilient nation, and a universal solvent for those who come here.

"illegal immigration is a destructive factor in terms of the cultural component."

So is legal immagration these days. Instead of immigrants assimilating American culture we are expected to assimilate their culture. The irony here is the fact that these immigrants come here to seek a better life. If the culture in "The Old Country" was so great, why did they come here in the first place?

Gary, you're exactly right. I've always thought that the U.S. should protect itself first before it protects anyone else. In fact, I don't like our military being used as a UN police force. The fact that we are in the UN is of concern enough without our troops meddling into sovereignty issues.

The costs of illegal immigration are huge. I'll go one step further and say that the costs of current legal immigration are huge. We are simply admitting too many people of too many backgrounds in too little time. The effects of which will be disastrous.
