AARLC Officials speak out on The DNC Summer Meeting and Pro-Growth

Immediate Media Release August 13, 2002 AARLC Headquarters Ronald Reagan Building 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Suite 700 Washington, District of Columbia 20005 Contact Person: Kevin L. Martin Govt. & Political Affairs Director 202-675-8338

AARLC Officials speak out on Democrat National Committee Summer Meeting and the victory of AARLC’s Pro-Growth Candidate Sherman Parker

In its weekly meeting with the national staff, AARLC Officials spoke out on the recent Democrat National Committee’s Summer Meeting; and were elated with the primary election victory of AARLC’s Pro-Growth Candidate Sherman Parker in Missouri State’s 12th District.

The statements from Terry McAuliffe are the statements of a nervous man. Look at the baseless charges Democrats have tried to level against this President and Republicans. The Democrat message of blame and backstabbing has fallen flat with the American Voter and polls continue to show strong support of this President and Republicans said, AARLC Chairman Alex-St. James.

Democrats are running on empty political. President Bush continues to help Republicans and Republican Candidates raise record funds for their campaigns. Democrats lacking any new ideas continue the same attack tactics that cost Al Gore the general election of 2000. Democrats have attacked the ideas of pro-growth and hope to divide people through class warfare and mistrust.

AARLC has been successful in backing pro-growth candidates such as Sherman Parker on a local and state level and we are preparing to take that pro-growth mantra national in our support of Republican Congressional Candidates like Jennifer Carroll in Florida, Lynette Boggs McDonald in Nevada and DeForest Buster Soaries in NJ. Where Democrats such as Terry McAuliffe see a handout, AARLC believes in a handup through pro-growth economies said Chairman St. James.

“Who is Terry McAuliffe trying to fool with these weekly political outbursts?” said Kevin L. Martin Political and Government Affairs Director. He knows that his party is in trouble and their base is in disarray. Democrat Leaders are looking at the polls in key states such as Maryland, California, New Jersey and Missouri and see troubled races in states they thought they once owned outright.

You have infighting among party members, some want to take it to the far left and others want to take it to the center and McAuliffe is out trying to hold the party on the one last item they all seem to agree on these days “their rabid hatred of President Bush.” Congressional Black Caucus Members, who represent the Democrats most loyal base are still upset with the fact that The Democrat Congressional Central Committee basically hung Congressmen Earl Hilliard out to dry in his primary race in Alabama and that Cynthia McKinney’s is on the brink of losing her seat in Georgia.

Terry McAullife Democrats and Congressional Black Caucus Members need to realize that big government socialism will not continue to get Democrats elected and reelected to office as Republican Congressional Victories over the last 7 years point out. America has always been a nation of pro-growth ideas said Martin.

When it comes down to offering true pro-growth Republican Candidates such as Sherman Parker in Missouri and engagement of the African American Community, the African American Republican Leadership Council is at the forefront. Sherman Parker’s primary win did not escape the attention of House Minority Leader Richard Gephardt who happen to be at home in Missouri as part of the month long Congressional Recess.

I think what Mr. Gephardt noticed the most… Sherman Parker an African American Pro-Growth Republican Candidate won his primary in Missouri’s largely conservative non-African American 12th District. Sherman Parker’s victory rips apart the myth put forth by liberal Democrats “that white conservative Republicans are racist and will not support African American Republican Candidates running in their district.” Mr. Gephardt knows that the same can’t be stated about African American Democrats said Chairman St. James.

The Republican Party too has to realize that full engagement is the only way to draw new younger African American Voters into the party and it should not become “water down version” of the Democrat Party or Pander Lite. The first way Republicans can reach out and engage African Americans is to stop putting non-African Americans in charge of minority voter outreach. “I mean common on that is basically phony outreach and pandering, it’s a insult to pro-growth African American and we can leave that to Terry McAuliffe and Democrat Party” said Martin

The AARLC will continue to support winnable pro-growth Republicans such as Sherman Parker, but will also support pro-growth non-African American Republicans for election and reelection as well said Chairman St. James.

Young African Americans are ready to be fully engaged and we will be there to engage them and it is time for African Americans to move beyond junior status in American Politics. Those African Americans who are in the Democrat Party can continue to sit in the back of the room and suck up to the likes of McAuliffe. The AARLC will continue ensure African American sit at the leadership table in the Republican Party said Martin.

The hysterical lies by Terry McAwfull are exactly the same rhetoric clinton used against the first President Bush. We can only pray that American's have learned their bitter bitter lesson. It is clear that the democrats don't want to be part of the solution towards national security and economic security.

We ought to remember we are ONE NATION, UNDER G-D, INDIVISIBLE. We must let the democrats tear this country apart with their hateful lies.

Now, if only the "media" will give the AARLC some coverage...Yeah, I know, don't hold your breath. Still, this is good news.

Great article, as usual, Kevin. Old Terry does look a bit like a deer caught in the headlights. I loved how he complained that GW did not invite any demis (save one union) to his forum. So when was the last time bill, hill, dick, tom or terry invited you or I to pow-wow with them???

Yeah, I know, don't hold your breath.

houdini couldn't hold his breath that long. The Liberal Bias in the news media would rather close the doors than admit that the DemocRATS don't have a lock on the Black Americans vote or thier ideology.

I live in the county that Sherman Parker will represent. The 12th district is close to 90 percent white. He ran against some well known candidates in the primary who have been in local politics for some time. The results in the primary election Sherman Parker with 1,459 votes (40.94 percent), while Terry Varner captured 1,087 votes (30.5 percent) and Dan Brungard received 1,018 votes (28.56 percent), according to unofficial election returns.

Sherman won because he worked his butt off and the people liked his ideas. Race was never an issue.

Parker said he was aware that he would be the first black person to represent St. Charles County as a state representative.

"I didn't run on those issues," Parker said. "I felt as though I focused on issues related to leadership. I never spoke about race or anything like that."

During his campaign, Parker said the new term limits would bring an end to an "old era of Missouri politics."

"Missourians are waiting for new hopes, new energy and new idealism," he said. "We will show that politics, after a time of tarnished ideals, can be higher and better. We will give our state a fresh start after a generation of cynicism."

The local rag (STL post dispatch) made it sound like this was something colossal that a black won a state race from this county. The liberal press just doesn't get it!

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.
