Albany-AP) -- Vermont Governor Howard Dean says Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton will not run for president in 2004.
Dean told reporters in Albany today that's what Clinton told him after he checked with her regarding his possible presidential bid.
Clinton was elected to the Senate in 2000 and has insisted she'll serve out her six-year term. She hasn't been as definitive about her plans for 2008.
Dean, in Albany to give a speech to the New York State United Teachers, is expected to formally announce his presidential candidacy in January.

Hillary! will not run for President. She will be on the ticket as Veep.
The poor sap who's in the #1 slot will be dead within the year, IMHO...

Who also sang the classic country song "Big Bad John."

Other than that, Mrs. Foster, how did you enjoy Washington D.C.?
To: Behind Liberal Lines
Yeah, yeah, I know it's Jimmy... but I still can't shake the association. Just wanted to know if anyone else was similarly afflicted...

Dean is right. The odds of Hils being on the ticket are slim to none. She won't run. She is too smart to get near that, for a variety of reasons. She needs to establish her own personna in the Senate, and her own record, and it is simply too soon.

She'll not run if it looks like Bush will get a second term.
Better to trundle Gore out again as cannon fodder, after all, he's expendable.
Then the witch will go against a non-encumbent in 2008 with a much better chance of winning.
..But wouldn't it be great to see Cheney defeat her....:-)

You're probably right, Hillary won't run until 2008, but my fear is that then female voters will be so glad that a woman is running for Pres that she will not only get Democratic support but the support of (less intelligent) women of other parties... I was sooo bummed when Liz Dole dropped out of the race :(

Tend to agree, but consider the following possibility:
1) For the near future, she continues to pay lip service to the importance of her job of representing the people of the state of New York while basking in the reflected glow of knudos thrown her way by the DLC and a fawning liberal press;
2) As 2004 decision time nears, President Bush is looking good (pick your own reasons)for a second term and Hillary reaffirms her promise, to the good citizens who elected her, to stay the course and opts out of any presidential race - regardless of who the Democrats put up for the Presidency;
3) On the other hand, if President Bush appears vulnerable, Hillary holds a Town Meeting in an undisclosed secure location, attendance by invitation only, no media allowed and NY voters need not attend.
Fifteen minutes after the meeting convenes, Hillary sycophants emerge and announce to a waiting press that attendees have convinced Hillary that the country is in dire straits, that the country needs leadership only she can provide, and have urged her to run for the presidency.
4) In a matter of hours, after carefully testing the pulse of the nation by means of focus groups, Hillary reluctantly proclaims that she feels she must respond to the call of her NY consistuents and the needs of the nation at large and announces her candidacy.
Voila!

LoL, plausible, but man, I hope you're wrong... :)

If that's PIAPS' strategic view, she's scrod. All the GOP needs to do is nominate Condi Rice, and Hitlery can bend over and kiss her fat *ss goodbye, as the percentage of 'Rat black voters drops from 93 to 70, or less.

Condi Rice totally rocks... she's my role model and I would be estatic beyond words if she would run, but then of course my grades would be not-so-cool since I'd be spending all my time campaigning for her... :)

Not counting her baggage (no,not her butt)
1. Chillary is a female(kinda)...a negative
2. Chillary is not a Governor...a negative
3. Chillary will be 61 in 2008...a negative
4. Chillary is married to X42i...a negative
5. If a Dem happens to win in 2004...a negative
She can only run for 2008 if a different Rat is NOT elected for 2004.
If she waits til 2008, she will probably have to start the campaign 2007 latest, which will make her 60 and she'll be 61 @ election time.
The only thing that could get her elected for either 2004 or 2008, is if x42i is not in the picture (divorce or death).
It seems to me, her best shot is 2004.
