“He didn't have no right to kill him,” said Wanda Munoz, the victim’s mother. “If he was doing what they said he was doing, he should have just called the police and reported it. Why kill him."

Oh, probably because the police would have shown up 10 minutes late, his car would have been destroyed and the perps wouldn't have been caught.

“The problem comes in cause many citizens will tell you that you have a right to protect your property and if they get to a jury they'll say they would do the same thing," said Robert Jenkins, a local defense attorney.

Well, I must say that Robert Jenkins and I do not see eye to eye as lawyers. What he calls a "problem," I call common sense. The right to defend one's property is very basic to most Americans. The idea that one's property is somehow in a different class from one's life, shows a misconception. One's property reflects a segment of one's life, or the life of one's ancestor. Property does not grow on trees. It reflects the labor and ingenuity of one who secured by labor and ingenuity the means to acquire it. When you steal a man's property, you steal a segment of his life. No man should have to submit to that.

Hopefully, the local Prosecutor will decline this Prosecution. Let the thieves of the world, beware!

Well Wanda, if your little degenerate wasn't doing what they said he was doing, it wouldn't be an issue, now would it??

Well actually, Robert, that is not technically a problem. That's JUSTICE.

Good, then we are in agreement.

"But local defense attorneys said that even if Minor were taken to trial in the shooting, it would be hard to get a jury to convict."

Dang Right!!! I live here in New Orleans. The week before New Years - my 94 Dodge (white, with running boards, and luggage rack) Caravan was stolen. 2 weeks later it was found wrecked and abandoned. Inside the van was one mess of BLUNTS, Cocaine, and New Year Party (complete with lip stick smuges) favors.

The replacement van has Talking Alarm System that went off after some joker broke the windows a couple of week after I bought it.

If I were on the JURY - I'd pin a metal on the Sean Minor!

LOL! I am laughing at the "even if" part.

First of all, learn to speak proper english. Second of all...I'm so angry at your stupidity that I can't even think of a "second of all"

The spin has already begun. The correct unspun snetence should read:

“He didn't have no right to kill him,” said Wanda Munoz, the thief’s mother.

The guy is a thief. Not a victim.

One question.

Where's the criminals friend and why hasn't been arrested yet? You think he'd have been inentified to the cops during the investigation?

This is not a problem. This is what a jury is supposed to do. It is their duty to judge the facts, the law and if the law is being applied properly in each specific case. If jurors are doing that in New Orleans they are to be commended.

I hope this guy hangs tough and a jury lets him off.

Because he was a thieving son of a B---h! And I mean that last word figuratively and literally.

I agree with Ms Munoz 100%. "...didn't have no..." means did have a right. (double negatives and all that rot).

I can vouch for the feelings of being personally violated when some SOB steals things that I worked to obtain. If I had the opportunity to shoot, I WOULD. More power to the individuals that protect their property.

I desire a shoot-to-kill property law. Hanging horse thieves tends to stop horse stealing.

Would a thief be more likely to steal in a neighborhood where the victims are allowed to fight back...or one in which thieves are protected by a law that says victims cant fight back..or are hobbled in how they can ...

Sean Minor, 29, was charged with manslaughter in the shooting, because officers say he wasn’t in danger at the time of the incident.

Didn't we just see an article within the last few days where a cop shot at some teenagers who were tp'ing his yard. No arrest.
