If I had to choose which state I thought would be the first to go after home schoolers, Kalifornia would get my vote!
HOME SCHOOLING BUMP!!
By the way, is homeschooling one word or two? The article posted spells it both ways(?).

I prefer to call it home education.

As a home schooling parent, I've suspected this was coming for quite some time as the growth of home schooling has brought it out from underneath the radar and into full view of the education bureaucracy. The government HATES competition.
The other thing to consider is that Delaine Easton is a lame duck. What a clever way to attack home schooling by using someone who will be leaving office to spearhead the anti-home schooling legislative agenda. I am suspicious that this may have been rather well orchestrated, as it certainly has all the earmarks.

Hi CO,
Delaine Easton says: "... then there would be potentially thousands of children in California whose education would not be subject to any supervision whatsoever ."
I guess parental supervision of their own children equates to no supervision in the deranged mind of this JBT in high heels. Her arrogance is going to be her downfall. The passion of home schooling parents is easily the equal of even the most diehard 2nd Amendment supporter. It going to be quite an interesting confrontation.

"I would hope that with no budget, that would have to take priority over homeschool legislation at the present, or does this just play into those greedy control freaks hands?"
EVERYTHING plays into the greedy control freaks' hands. We live in a state that is dominated by socialists.
