August 30, 2002 -- The United States will launch its all-out attack to oust - and kill - Saddam Hussein by Nov. 30, according to a new report.

Israeli military sources, quoted by the respected Israeli newspaper Maariv, disclosed that a U.S. military delegation revealed the outline of the plans in briefings with Israeli and Jordanian military officers.

You are correct about them screaming about the timing...and you know what? They would be right. We screamed bloody murder everytime Clinton did it (and we were right)...and now some suggest we do the same thing: Use the military for political gain.

Being a 16 year member of the military...I didn't like being used that way before...and would not like it this time. As conservatives...we have to do right and show the other side what IS right...rather than be hypocrites. Those here on FR that are suggesting a start of the war to boost the elections are hypocrites and would ahve a cow if this was algore and the same thing was happening. It's just like how many on this site get ticked at the left for name calling and being generally...degenerate...but we do the same thing...how many Reno jokes can you name:-)

So...no...no war to coincide with the elections. We would decry such political posturing but we think it is OK when WE do it? Sorry...but some need to stop being hypocrites and lead by example.

As I said before...I think they are trying to make Saddam insane even more crazy with all these leaks. I expect to see even more leaks about how many of his top-level generals are going to work with the US and depose him (so he can knock them off). I think this is aimed at getting him to attack first...thereby stopping all the talk about going it alone....reasons...blah blah blah.

How about trusting your CIC to do what's right for the military and the country without consideration of the political gain/fallout?

My concern is not that Bush will use a military strike to boost the election chances. My concern is that he will not attack out of fear of being accused of such.

December 4 is my day,,the end of Ramadan, a new moon, will disrupt Christmas shopping. Hannakah is Dec 7 and it will give the Jews something to celebrate about. I like that date!!! If Saddam doesn't get offed by his buddies before then. That gives the Iraquis past their Nov deadline to kill him, and if they don't, well Merry Christmas from all of us to all of you.

My post is aimed at all the freepers who are suggesting we do it at that time so that we might gain politically. There are posts about this all over the place. THAT is what I am talking about. I know Bush will do the right thing and I know it won't be political. What gets me upset is all the freepers who are suggesting we do this so we can have a good election...when if clinton/gore had done the same thing they would have a stroke. THAT is what I was saying.

What does "d" "h" "m" mean? My birthday is on Nov. 4. The death of Saddam would be an awfully nice present for me. Reagan was elected on my birtday when I turned 10, so this would be a nice addition to the "important things that happened on my birthday" list. =)

Right in the middle of Ramadan would be interesting, especially if there is an increasing amount of hype about the necessity of avoiding that great religious holiday because we don't like to step on other folks' religious celebrations and because we want all the arabs and domestic lefties to like us for being so considerate.

My complaint against BC timing military action for political effect was that it was unwarranted military action, that the primary or only purpose of the action was for political effect.

They said this last year, that we would not do anything during Ramadan (ram-it-in), and we went right ahead and attacked before that, and all during that, in Afghanistan.

Ramadan begins at the new moon in November, some Nov. 4, and lasts thru some Dec 3/4. We had better go in in force before that begins.
