Pick a Flag to Fly in Arlington
(Arlington, VA) -- What flag should fly on September eleventh?
In Arlington County, the choice is yours.
A flyer detailing the community's remembrance plans for the anniversary of the terrorist attack asks residents to fly flags at 9:37 that day, the time a hijacked planed struck the Pentagon.
The brochure suggests people fly "an American flag, and-or a flag from your home country."
The chair of the Arlington County Board says a multi-national display of flags will honor the county's diverse population and show what it truly means to be an American.
But several county residents tell the Washington Times the stars and stripes should fly alone on September eleventh, as a symbol of unity.
The county's official observance will include the unfurling of a giant American flag.

This was just another weeny effort to salve the feelings of the America haters all over the world.

This diversity BS is starting to really ___ me off.

The brochure suggests people fly "an American flag, and-or a flag from your home country." If you are American, the U.S. flag is the flag of your "home country". If you are a foreign citizen living in the U.S., some other flag will be the flag of your "home country".
What must be remembered is that many foreign citizens died during the 9/11 attacks. Over 100 British citizens died, just to name one foreign country.
If foreigners living in America lost a fellow citizen in 9/11, then they should fly the flag of their home country.
