Did Red China Encourage 9/11?

As incredible as it may be to believe, three years before the Sept. 11 bombing of the World Trade Center a Chinese military manual titled Unrestricted Warfare touted such an attack – suggesting it would be difficult for the U.S. military to cope with.

Here is an excerpt from Unrestricted Warfare:

“Whether it be the intrusions of hackers, a major explosion at the World Trade Center, or a bombing attack by bin Laden, all of these greatly exceed the frequency bandwidths understood by the American military...”

Surprisingly, Osama bin Laden is mentioned frequently in this book.

On Sept. 11, 2001, Americans and the world witnessed one of the most horrific acts ever to take place on American soil.

Our media and government were quick to declare the acts of that day as simply terrorism by a nationless group known as al-Qaeda.

In reading China’s military manual Unrestricted Warfare, you will learn that the events of Sept. 11 were not a random act perpetrated by independent agents.

Instead, Chinese military planners believe that terrorism is just one of the many tools at the hands of nations and their terrorist allies to wage total war against the United States.

You will be surprised to learn:

The two PLA colonels who authored Unrestricted Warfare have been hailed as heroes in China since Sept. 11.

The Chinese state-run propaganda machine is cashing in on the terror attacks ... producing books, films and video games glorifying the strikes as a humbling blow against an arrogant nation.

Chinese Communist Party officials are saying that President Jiang Zemin has obsessively and gleefully watched and re-watched pictures of the aircraft crashing into the World Trade Center.

The CIA’s own translation agency reported that this book identifies the U.S. as China’s main enemy, and details how a weak nation can destroy America using unorthodox attacks – like the 9-11 attacks.

China is preparing itself and encouraging others to engage the U.S. in total war. The book is chock full of plans and strategies, from using computers, to smuggling illegal immigrants, to manipulating the stock markets, to influencing the U.S. media, to using weapons of mass destruction – all to destroy America.

Recent press reports indicate that China has assisted and continues to assist militarily and economically the Taliban and al-Qaeda – even after Sept. 11.

The doctrine of total war outlined in Unrestricted Warfare clearly demonstrates that the People’s Republic of China is preparing to confront the United States and our allies by conducting “asymmetrical” or multidimensional attacks on almost every aspect of our social, economic and political life.

The media and Congress are keeping a lid on this book because of the implications of U.S.-China economic and trade relations.

As usual, Newsmax takes a bunch of things and string them together and calls it "news." Every single one of the things mentioned in the highlighted sentence,“Whether it be the intrusions of hackers, a major explosion at the World Trade Center, or a bombing attack by bin Laden, all of these greatly exceed the frequency bandwidths understood by the American military...” had in fact already taken place prior to 9/11. It wasn't encouraging future attacks, but noting previous attacks.

The article goes on: In reading China’s military manual Unrestricted Warfare, you will learn that the events of Sept. 11 were not a random act perpetrated by independent agents. Instead, Chinese military planners believe that terrorism is just one of the many tools at the hands of nations and their terrorist allies to wage total war against the United States.
Uh, we don't need a Chinese military manual to "learn" this fact, and it ain't just "Chinese military planners" who believe in terrorism as a tool of war against the U.S.

The Chinese state-run propaganda machine is cashing in on the terror attacks ... producing books, films and video games glorifying the strikes as a humbling blow against an arrogant nation.
This isn't any different from what is happening right here in the U.S. of A. Toby Keith, Bruce Springsteen, all of the TV networks, and that survivor who wants to be paid for giving interviews are all cashing in on the attacks.

The doctrine of total war outlined in Unrestricted Warfare clearly demonstrates that the People’s Republic of China is preparing to confront the United States and our allies by conducting “asymmetrical” or multidimensional attacks on almost every aspect of our social, economic and political life.
Don't forget fluoridating our water. Introducing foreign substances into our precious bodily essences is the biggest Commie plot of all.

The media and Congress are keeping a lid on this book because of the implications of U.S.-China economic and trade relations.
Thank goodness Newsmax is around to blow the lid off.

My new mantra is... it is time to close the bases in Germany. They have outlived their usefulness.

The US Army should be forward based in Kazakhstan. Mongolia. Afghanistan.

The Navy should be based in Australia, Indonesia, the Phillipines. Vladivostok.

Our Special Forces guys should be learning to speak Chinese. And Tibetan.

That is a far cry from GLORYIFYING it!

Oh yeah you're right! Of course China is our friend! Just like Saudi Arabia!

You arguments demonstrate further proof of the UN/PC-poisoning of our culture and country.

The Chinese reference is probably the result of the bombing of the WTC basement a few years earlier.

The ChiCOMs are clearly one of the lynchpins in the Trans-Asian Axis, which includes a number of Islamist nation states and also their tentacles such as Al Qaida. Saudi Arabia look to be joining in short order if not already. In order to best understand the geopolitical reasons why the ChiCOMs are interested in Islamist terror (beyond the obvious "what's bad for the West is, ultimately, good for us") read Bodansky's "Beijing's Surge for the Strait of Malacca." This was written during the Bubba years, and ignored, and is still not well known even amongst the current adminstration. More recently, with the 7/16/2001 Treaty between the PRC and Russia, one really has to wonder exactly where Russia stands geopolitically vis a vis Islamism. One must note that the Chechnya conflict, really the only thing that even remotely resembles a "fight against Islamism" by the them, is more along the lines of the PRC's ongoing assimilation struggle with the Turkmen. Neither of these are true "Jihad" and only recently infiltrated by Al Qaida opportunists. (Incidentally, both the Turkmen and Chechens are Turkic peoples, not Arabs and not innately Wahabbi).

The Trans-Asian Axis.... our enemy, our curse, the ultimate supporters of radical Saudis, Wahabbism, Islamo-fascism, Marxo-islamism and global Terror

During the cold war we had two enemies. China and the USSR. With the fall of the USSR, China didn't present much of a threat, alone, since their forte is their humongous Army which can't do much without air or sea transport to the objective. Either method of transportation would be easily defeated. However, lately they have been modernizing and growing their military, and since Bill Clinton gave them the technology to cut 30 years off their ICBM program that could be a real threat (no wonder the democrats are against an anti-missile defense program). China will continue to build while we sit back and ignore them. One day we will be surprised.

A distinct possibility. Like the uncertain settlement that was left in Europe in 1919, and very unlike the pro-Western portions of the 1945 settlement, the situation that was left in 1991 was highly non-deterministic and subject to no overt control. No occupations, no new constitutions, no "post-Soviet-Nuremberg", etc. In essense, we left things completely to the self proclaimed good will and purported reflexive reforms of the East. So, natuarlly, there are no real forces to prevent reversion other than what we hope is some desire to continue to play by the rules of the West on the part of the East. So, strip malls and McDonalds aside, what precisely is the motivation for them to play ball? Do we naively assume that the East all want what we think we have (in a socio economic sense)? Even if this were true, until the East demonstated several generations of good behavior, we would be fools to continue our own inability to counteract renewed aggression at the drawn down levels prematurely set as early as 1993. At present, we are as exposed as the UK were with their idiotic 10 year rule (if not moreso), utterly unable to respond quickly enough to worst case (or, even far less than worst case) Axis coalescense. Bad plan. Really bad plan...

The Chinese reference is probably the result of the bombing of the WTC basement a few years earlier.

Yes, i agree with you and also believe the references to the 'bombing of the WTC' refers to the attack in 1993. And as for the allusions to UBL they are really not that 'amazing' since UBL has been attacking US interests for the whole decade of the 90s!

Hence that article may be in bad taste, but when it was written it was referring to the previous attacks on the WTC and the fact that UBL had a major bone to pick with the free world (and hence the USA). I truly doubt it was as nefarious as some people are trying to make it.

Now if the article had said 'hijack planes and crash them into the hubs of commerce and government' i might be convinced the Chinese 'influenced 9-11.' But all it seems to be is a reference to former attacks.

And this is not to say that China is not a budding threat that sooner or later will bloom to our detriment! It just means that reading between the lines of that article trying to look for linkages between China and 9-11 is a tad bit far fetched.

This article is an example of why I don't bother with NewsMax--the facts advanced in the article do not do enough support the thesis of the title. It's sloppy writing, and it's emblematic of sloppy thinking.
