Today, we morn the passing of a FReeper who was one of over 3,000.
Barbara Olson, aka BKO, was on her way to California from Washington DC on flight 77. The flight, and her life, ended tragically this fateful morning last year as our new enemy piloted her plane into the Pentagon.
In March, 2000, she penned this note to me on the front page of her book Hell to Pay: the unfolding story of Hillary Rodham Clinton:
Dear ______ _________,
Thank you so much for all your support and work to spread the news on Free Republic. What would conservative writers do without "Cyber Liberty?!"
All the best
Barbara Olson
BKO will live on in the hearts of FReepers everywhere forever.

My wife and I felt a great personal loss when we heard the news about BKO. Comments are most welcome this day of sad memories.

Wow. I had no idea she was a FReeper. May she rest in peace, and may we never forget our responsibility to protect the future Barbara Olson's of the world from evil.

Once again, watching all this, I am brought up short when I see her name.
I have freepmails from her; I miss her.

I like this one because it looks more like a fierce flag going to battle than a mourning flag.

For you, Barbara Olson
To: Cyber Liberty
God Bless Barbara Olson, she is one of my conservative hereos and always will be.
I read Hell to Pay and Final Days both were EXCELLENT books. I highly recommend them.
She was a champion for conservative views. I miss her dearly.
RIP Barbara.

"I have freepmails from her; I miss her." As have I. On both.

I just read Hell to Pay a month or so ago. It was terrific. I'm hoping to read the follow up book she wrote (the name escapes me presently).

My copy of The Final Days shall remain forever unautograhed.

You were very fortunate to have known her. God Bless both Ted and Barbara!
P.S. This is sort of on-topic, hope it's ok, I'd be interested if anyone has any good computer links to video or audio news feeds (that is, not liberal news links) -- e.g., today MSNBC is broadcasting (in part) Katie Couric, & I think Dan Rather can also be heard on CBS' site, etc.
