Huh? That doesn't make a lick of sense.

I think I agree with this tack that AIT suggests wholeheartedly. To any honest person it would show the Mexican government guys to be what they are: mooches whose marching orders are to try and subvert and undermine U.S. law any way they can, and most importantly, to try and chisel every last dollar out of the U.S.

Thanks Regulator and AIT for your valuable input. Putting the spotlight on the Mexican subversives that are intruding into our sovereign affairs is where the focus should be placed. I couldn't agree more.

Illegal aliens are here because the american regime over the last 30 years has facilitated that they be here.

Most Americans have nothing to do with the "american regime" that have “facilitated” the massive Illegal Alien presence here. What's happened is that a comparatively small number of Americans have allowed and encouraged this immigration invasion to the point where it is now a nationwide crisis. That is their own doing and should not be blamed on the citizenry of America.

The day the rest of the world, particularly MEXICO, shows some true friendship and respect towards our country and OUR SOVEREIGNTY is the day we should perhaps show some compassion in kind. Until then, the Deep Well of America’s Goodwill with this World is running bone dry.

Is there any country on this globe of whose kids America isn’t educating, feeding, clothing, and sheltering? If you feel like paying for an illegal alien’s education out of your own pocket that is your business. Leave the rest of us out of it.

It's simple. I disagree with Tancredo and instead I agree with Reagan. Comprendo? Reagan wanted to forgive existing illegals and treat them human if we just shut off the flow of new illegals in an effective way. If we followed Reagan's recommendation on this issue circa 86-87, then we wouldn't have illegal aliens today. Tancredo's stunts are only discrediting him. He is only mean-spirited to focus the federal monster on 1 family as a result of press coverage. Let him use his energy working in an effective manner instead. There's no way the congress will vote to just throw existing illegals out. They'll vote to shut off the tap if effective leaders promote the cause, but Tancredo only makes it less likely by doing this.

"All I've ever wanted is that my son fulfills his dream" of going to college."

He forgot the main word: "FREE". The original article was because he could not get financial aid as an illegal; not that he couldn't go to college.

Reagan made a major mistake in 1986 and started chain migration en masse. He screwed up big time. It's too late to argue about that. These people are criminals and they need to be removed... whatever it takes. This incessant belaying of government responsibility is completely intolerable. They need to go. Now. Period. So many otherwise reasonable individuals seem to have such difficulty comprehending the simple word, "illegal".

Reagan started it. Get it? He did many good things, but this deplorable single snafu negated all of them in spades a million times over. It is hard to believe that in this time of utter meltdown we are still bickering over this.

Oh, I forgot...they're Mexican...silly me. If this was a European family, the INS would have been at their front door with handcuffs by now.

How True.

Well "Congress" didn't follow Reagan's recommendations did they? They gutted every new illegal immigration control measure right out of Reagan's blanket Amnesty. Only a fool would believe, especially in this day of age, that another Amnesty would stop future illegal immigration. It's as if somehow the human nature to seize on weakness doesn't exist when time after time we reward illegal aliens with Amnesty. Enough was enough 20 years ago.

But you know sometimes I think maybe we should just let the whole world in here and make them citizens right off the bat. As long as we are destroying ourselves we might as well get it over with. Everyone! Come one, come all. You want to take us over, fine...We Are Stupid!

At a minimum, with billions people in America it would be fun watching all the open borders hypocrites hide behind their fences and scream to high heaven "There are too many immigrants here"!

Tancredo was really badly advised to have made such a call public.

So you want Tancredo to crawl on his belly to privately BEG the do-nothing INS? You've gotta be out of your mind!

They ALREADY know that the family is here illegally. They can read the paper too. They DON'T WANT TO DEPORT THEM. Just like the Forest Service didn't want to put out the 130,000 acre fire in my back yard. It's going to take public flogging and lawsuits against Government officials to get them to do their jobs.

Thank God Tancredo went public.

Unless we do this stuff 'Ann Coulter Style' we're going to lose.

We should not throw little kids out of schools because their parents have been hired illegally. As a people we must remember that the children of these families are growing up here. We should let them stay.

"I wish I had him here, face to face. I'd ask him, 'Do I seem like a bad person? No, just a law breaker. Does my son seem like a bad person?'" said Apodaca's mother, Maria Madrid. "All I've ever wanted is that my son fulfills his dream" of going to college. They have universities in their home.

Former Gov. Dick Lamm, who backs stricter immigration controls, said targeting one family rather than overall immigration policy could backfire.

"This violates people's sense of fairness," Lamm said.

What is fair about a lawbreaker getting rewarded while others that follow our laws must wait years to come here. Has he seen how long of a wait it is for people following the rules that want to come here. What is fair about letting someone who broke the law get the reward while other who follow the rules don't?!

There are illegals who pay IRS out of fear!

There are LEGALS who pay IRS out of fear also! BTW, how does a illegal citizen pay IRS? Do they file a tax return? If so, where did they get their SS#?

you're about as ignorant as they come. You said that Reagan started illegal immigration. Illegal immigration was flowing strong before Reagan was elected. Reagan, unlike tancredo, pushed a bill which would stop it. As I explained to you earlier. The only way to stop illegal immigration is to require the employers to validate the credibility of documents via modem when they hire a person. Congress passed Reagan's law, but they eliminated that one provision along the way. Reagan merely signed the legislation. He put in good effort to solve the problem unlike Tancredo.

If Tancredo wants to solve the illegal immigratin problems, then he should support similar legislation. I have never heard him doing that. He should have fashioned such legislation and tried to get it on the agenda. He should talk about such legislation before his fans. This grandstanding where he focuses in on one family in a petty manner does nothing at all except get a few nuts to support him while he offends the majority of people. It actually squanders our opportunity to do something real.

Dear Balding: No need to be so disagreeable. And no, I'm not out of my mind. I'm just telling you how to accomplish getting these people deported if that is your goal. High profile politicking is OK in its place, but there are ways to get things done, and ways to make other people dig in their heels. Tancredo, bless his heart, wanted to make a political point (with which I happen to agree). Reality dose: If you are a U.S. Congressman and you or one of your staff members calls the INS and recommends that an illegal alien be deported, they will be deported. No one would have been surprised, given that the illegals in question had spilled their guts all over the paper. But if you are a U.S. Congressman and call the newspaper first, you needlessly humiliate the INS office in Denver (which is already humiliated by the pinche idiotas ilegales and hampered by a headquarters in DC less than committed to deporting illegals); the potential deportee will have every immigration lawyer on the books voluteering to represent him, keeping him here indefinitely while he goes to college for free; the civil rights pimps will get involved, delaying the deportation further while the bleeding hearts do their thing. Guess who loses.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound disagreeable, even though I strongly disagree with you.

The Denver Post decided to make this a high profile case, to advance the Post's cause.

God bless Tancredo for his willingness to rush to the playing field the Post decided to argue this case on. That's a KEY POINT. The Post was the one who set the rules. Only Tancredo was willing to take the war (yes, this is a war against a foreign invasion of our country) to them.

It's the subject of local talk radio, as it should be. The Post is trying to cover their collective backsides, as it should be. And people are having to face this problem, now made very public, as it should be.

Will the family be thrown out of the country? In the big scheme of things it doesn't matter, EXCEPT that it would set a precedent: Beak immagration law, pay the price. SOmething that hasn't happend for years.
