No way is Sadaam going to allow inspectors to go everywhere in Iraq Problem is, he can allow UN inspectors everywhere. They won't see any more than they're told to. UN personnel bought and paid for by the Arabs is so common that finding an untainted one is darn near impossible. Remember the brouhaha when the UN refused to turn over video evidence on what part they played when Israeli soldiers were abducted?
So the UN is a terrorist organization with goals in common with murderous Islam. They should be treated no different than Saddam.

Saddam won't have any time to complete his nukes, because George will literally be breathing down his neck. Just because the UN may not have the guts to do what needs to be done, don't think that George is going to give up.

BTW....Kofi is giving credit to the Arab League for brokering this deal.I guess this is what the Saudi aboutface was all about.

The inspectors this time come with the 82nd Airborne. I believe they are otherwise occuppied at the moment. Perhaps a Marine Expeditionary Brigade or the 101st . Maybe just a few technical types escorted by a few SEALS, with air cover provided by the 509th Bomb Wing and their B-2 Spirits, direct decendents of the 509th Composite Group, only military unit anywhere to use nuclear weapons in combat. The Spirits should be armed with weapons that are also decendents of those imployed by the 509th over Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Just like I said, like dealing with Arafat. Agree to big issues and then, as an afterthought, build in elements that make it impossible to get to the big issues. Saddam says, "no condition," but will start with reasonable items, e.g., "Bhagdad runways unsafe, so initial inspectors and their vehicles will have to come via Jordan," "can't work on holy days out of respect for Islam," or "on certain sites, UN will have to clean up unexploded ordinance before inspections."
Then, we'll go to the less reasonable, (1) no Jewish or female inspectors, (2) 24 hour notice because of limited English speaking Iraqis, (3) personal areas out of bounds, etc. We will be right back where we were in no time.
Of course, Saddam's main objective is to get past the US elections without giving Bush another opportunity to be a war leader. Saddam knows that a war leader is much more likely to have his supporters elected. Without a war or combat, Saddam hopes that his friends, the anti-American ultr-left wing democrats will retain the Senate and, thereafter, continue to work for him.

Dubya just lost his butt. If he goes against the UN bureaucracy we will have NO allies, except possibly Britain. If he lets the UN run things, nothing will happen - the UN will collude with Hussein rather than risk a war (icky!).I agree with this. That was the danger of going to the UN in the first place. He is going to get jerked around. I wonder what the Israelis are doing.

the White House is "dismissive." This means that the administration anticipated thisThe game is afoot, and my bet is on the poker player from Midland.
You've got that right. Anyone who didn't anticipate this is naive. One more move in a big chess game. It will play out. My bet is the same place your's is.

This sounds very familiar, saddam has used this tactic before. It's the old bait, and switch game, and delay, delay, and confuse the enemy.

Well, except for daschle....

They ask the inspectors "Where would u like to search tomorrow?" Then they spend all night clearing everything out so nothing is ever found. Maybe we should send women inspectors, who can then exercise their God Given Right to change their mind at the last minute...every morning and maybe a time or two during the day. :)

The US should demand that if WMD are found, that Iraq shall be found in violation of the UN resolutions and the regime shall be immediately ousted; peacefully or forcefully, Iraq's choice.

Moves in a game that an intelligent sixth-grader can anticipate perfectly everytime. Frigging amazing that any human could be dumb enough to think "inspections" are going to accomplish anything, yet the U.N. is filled with such humans from top to bottom. It'll be interesting to see how Bush handles this garbage, since the U.N. will now cry, "See, he's cooperating! No need for trouble now!"

With or without the UN, Saddam is the one who's toast. Bush set this up perfectly. Don't you think he knew exactly what Saddam was going to do? Don't tell me you're buying into the liberal media BS that Bush is just a dolt?
