History was one of my most interesting classes all through school. It seems like it is not taught like it was when I was in school which is a shame.

Wasn't that pledge great! What a beautiful thing to see the President and Sec. Paige stand up for the Pledge and for America.

I didn't see last night's Dose until this afternoon and you two were a riot. How does it feel to be legends? I laughed the whole time I read BOTH threads. Mo and MJY cracked me up too.

These are some great pics, rintense. I love the one where Dubya is peeking out the window of the WH! Why was David McCoullough with him at the WH?

I know what my kids are learning about American History because we talk about what they're reading in homeschool, and I try to read what they're reading so I can discuss it with them. They know about their civic duties as far as voting, etc. We had a primary here in MA today. I can't wait to see what happens with the Lt. Gov. race; it's gonna be interesting because the woman that Mitt Romney picked as his running mate is NOT the person the Repub. State Convention delegates picked to be his running mate; they picked Jim Rappaport. So this primary will decide that. I'll have to watch the late evening newscast to see what's up with that!

It's not being taught like it used to be because of the leftist teachers that hate America, hate God and hate everything we stand for. The President can't say that so he is putting programs in place that will force them to teach the truth about what a great country this is. He quoted statistics about how little kids know about our history. He said we must teach our kids about the American cause of freedom around the world. He was great!

I agree with you that history is not taught as much as it should be. I think that in 4 years of high school and 2 years of junior high I only had one history class. I believe I only had one history class in college, too (one semester) and that was not American History. I am fascinated with history and I do lots of reading on my own, but I am embarrassed about how much I don't know.

She does look great, "luminous" is the word that comes to mind, I remember one other pic of her, having lunch with a whole bunch of trrops, she had on a periwinkle-color suit and she just shone in the crowd
