LITTLE Michael Mozer was driven mad by prescription drugs school officials forced his mother to give him. Now he wants to dish out some harsh medicine to the "educators" and doctors who nearly ruined his life.

The family of the 12-year-old Dutchess County boy has filed a suit in White Plains federal court that they hope will change the way educators and doctors diagnose kids and push psychiatric medication on them.

Great!!!!!

If there is one issue that scares me spitless it is the doping down and drugging of kids at school.

Hats off to this Mom for courage!

The doctors are also accused of diagnosing Michael with additional psychiatric problems, instead of realizing that the ADHD drug Ritalin and the drugs Paxil and Dexedrine were responsible for his anxiety attacks, insomnia and other ailments

I have a difficult time believing that. That being said, I have to wonder how a mother and father would dare consent to *any* medical treatment for their child without dilligent research of the subject in question??

...prescribed a combination of Dexedrine and Paxil, although both drugs, alone or combined, are not approved by the Food and Drug Administration for children.

Not quite accurate. While Paxil is contraindicated in children under 18,

Dexedrine is FDA approved for children three (3) years of age and up

I wish them a speedy trial and may they win so big that school districts everywhere will take notice.

This story sickens me! May the mother and child get retribution on these inept practitioners!

It's just going to come out of the taxpayer's pockets. There is unfortunately no good way to get at the individuals who did this.

Check it out, kid.

"...that they hope will change the way educators and doctors diagnose kids and push psychiatric medication on them."

Wayyyy longgggg overdue.
Aside from the "mom's" $75k suite being too little??
She should demand some *scalps* in the form of Teaching Certificates & Medical Licenses.

...that'd make the buggers eyes water, alright.

Parents: If the school district attempts to drug your children, get him out of there. If you have to sell the house, work three jobs, homeschool, or whatever, get your child out of there. It is bad enough that they are filling his head with mush without using pharmaceuticals to soften up his brain.

This sort of thing just makes me sick.

When my middle daughter was acting up in 1st Grade, they called us in. They wanted to Ritalinize her. I took her out and started homeschooling her instead, alongside my older daughter

Later it turns out that my daughter is hypoglycemic (hypoglycemia and diabetes run in my wifes side of the family). If her blood sugar drops too low, she goes nuts, gets upset, cries at the least thing, becomes extremely angry, etc. The cure was to manage her blood sugar better: no sugar or processed-flour products for breakfast (ie, cut out the instant oatmeal and cereal). Instead, we give her protein (stick a chicken patty with some cheese on it in the toaster oven).

Protein and fat digest slowly, keeping blood sugar more even over the following hours. Sugar and stuff made from processed flour digest quickly, sending blood-sugar soaring, followed by a crash

Sure there is. It's just that no one wants to say it out loud.

Tell the goddam teachers to stop "labeling" these normal kids as "problems". The problem is the sytem wherein normal is "robotic" behavior..no tapping, no wiggling, no questioning of a teacher's opinion...etc, etc...

Stop promoting drugs for "control" of these children. It will result in life time dependancy and a "mark" on their record forever and "unknown" permanent damage.

The day my nephew said "I'm only good when I take my pills", she took him off and told his teachers to go to hell.

He's a nice young man who went through the confusion of his teen world and will do A okay in the future.

I thought the schools drugged these little boys to try to turn them into little girls … Ritalin, Dexedrine, Paxil, and Risperdal ?? They were trying to turn this boy into something completely new!

Thanks for the heads up.
