whoa, you must have the slowest growing hair on earth, or you're dead. 4 months w/o a touch-up, really?

Highlights, actually. Two-toned. But my hair bleaches very quickly in the sun, so I haven't gone all out yet. It's also long, as in past my shoulders, so it grows more slowly than people with short hair. At this point, there's about 5-6 inches between scalp and the last line. It's time. My hairdresser doesn't advocate monthly highlights. Too hard on the hair - and he's using Graham-Webb stuff.

Okay, I'm blonde, so how can I get Federal protection and other goodies?

Let me know when you find out!

Big advantage I have is being over a 1/2 century old and still blonde, hardly any grey except my beard.

Blonde is not hair colour.

It is a state of mind!

What color eyes does the mailman have....?
I thought brown was dominant over blue eyes.

It is, but that doesn't mean anything. By this supposition, as my dad's eyes are brown and my mom's are green, but her dad's were brown, all the kids in my family should have brown eyes and probably all the same shade. But we have: hazel (which turn the color of whatever I'm wearing at the time), whiskey brown (exact same as dad's), dark chocolate brown, mucky green, and sky blue.

A geneticist would have a field day with me and my sibs.

Thanks for the jokes. You made my Friday afternoon.
BTW, aren't Hillary and Barbara Steisand blondes?
I would make Ann Coulter an honorary "brunette."
FYI: I'm a brunette.

Yikes, Nordie! I have my hat on in that picture. Folks, I look much better without the hat. We're looking good, huh?

My entire family, being hispanic, are dark. Black/Brown hair, dark skin. Two of my sisters married "anglo" men with brown hair.. well lo and behold, each sister has a natural blonde daughter.

Perhaps a better known example is OJ and Nicole Simpson --didn't their daughter have blond hair?

Your high I-Q'edness has earned your place as an honorary brunette.

Yup, those old recessive genes just can't compete.

Nor will they have to.

Blondes MUST have more fun. That's why you never see a brunette with blonde roots.

you CAN have a "blonde" gene and not BE blonde

Yes. Although my hair appears dark, I am blonde. Although I am blue-eyed, my eyes actually appear green. I tried to grow a red beard, but could manage only a few red hairs among the blonde and dark. Very common for children to be blonde and blue-eyed, and then darken in a few years as they adapt chameleon-like to their surroundings.

This can be added to the list of things we need not worry about.
