All is lost, anyone who still believes this country is better than a third world cess pool is a mindless, unthinking idiot. We should have just taken your inflamitory attacks as enlightend thought. They Anti-Flag youth has all the right answeres and a complete understanding of 20 century history. MG should have asked him for voting advice. Whatever dude

Also...

cesspool is a compound word..
the word is spelled inflammatory, not inflamitory...
the word is spelled answers, and not answeres....

Remeber this is a response is in defense of the 60s peace "attitude", which, according to Stanislov Lunev, and Mitroken (IIRC), were funded and organized by the KGB, CPUSA, and ISP.

Your saying anyone who doesn't buy into the leftist peace movement of the 60s is a blood thirsty war monger.

And yet you're saying that anyone who prefers an attitude of peace is an unwitting communist dupe of the KGB.

Rhetorical cohesion isn't exactly your strong suit, is it?

How do we protect this country without curtailing any of our civil liberties?

Hmmm... You don't suppose that free men might actually defend themselves if not debarred the use of arms by the state... do you?

You don't suppose that free men might have pulled their sidearms and blown a hole in the heads of anyone foolhardy enough to drag out a boxcutter on an aircraft, do you?

If you TRULY believe there is NO difference between democrats and republicans then I pity you. You really DON'T know. Remember, you stick your head in the sand, your libel to get you buns blown off.

Of course, maybe there's enough of us with our heads outta the sand to protect you. But boy, thats a big chance your taking....

Didn't intend it as such. I'm asking a legitimate question.

OK, an odd way to ask a question, but I'll assume it was inadvertent.

How do we protect this country without curtailing any of our civil liberties?

How about starting with attacking the enemy instead of the citizens? If you want to send all guests of the country from certain countries home, it would be ok with me during times of conflict. Suspending my constitutional rights, (without even a declaration of war, I might add) does nothing to address the problem.

I gotta say this man. FR is NOT an english class. When people get all worked up, spelling is the last thing on there mind. And if you understood it enough to correct it, why then I suppose the misspelling wasn't so bad was it.

Absolutely. But what I do not understand is how the government is supposed to rid the U.S. of terrorists, many of whom are citizens of this country, if their hands are tied by the very citizens they are trying to protect.

They might mouth different platitudes, but they both are in favor of growing the federal gov't both size and scope of powers not granted to it by the constituion.

If you think that the different colors of window dressing that they each respectivelty use are actually important, I pity you.

That fits the DNC, Muslims, Libertarians, Objectivists, Christians, Keynsian economists, Hayak/Freedman/Von Mises economist, or anyone else who has conviction in what they believe.

You bet. - Any group can engage in 'groupthink'. But the only one presently doing so at FR is none of the above. Just follow the '5's to sniff them out here & now.

The problem is those who decided to kill or convert their opposition. This time it ain't us.

This is not about 9/11, it is about the over-reaction TO 9/11 & election politics. -- Some politicians on BOTH sides are making political hay of this issue, and some people who support them at FR are trying to disrupt the forum and ban their 'opponents'. - Obviously.

conservatives quite happily support government theft for their own pet projects, and they're every bit as bad (perhaps even worse) than liberals when it comes to state subjugation of the legitimate rights of free men.

I'm a conservative and I don't support government theft for pet projects. Stop generalizing (unless you're referring to "conservatives" in Congress specifically).

I never said that so why no argue with yourself if you are only going to invent things.

There are of course some differences. They are largely differences in scope and detail. Fundamental differences in philosophy are harder to ascertain. Republicans advocate NEW entitlement programs like PRESCRIPTION DRUG BENEFITS and others. Democrats of course want a bigger transfer payment, but they share a vision on the fundamental idea. Democrats want government to grow 6% per year, forever. Republicans argue for 3%. Forever. Spending and the growth of government under Republicans has been faster percentage wise than under Democrats. It would be amazing, if someone actually believed they were going to SHRINK government. I could go on, but it seems pointless. You balloon will not be popped by me I'm afraid.

Of course, maybe there's enough of us with our heads outta the sand to protect you. But boy, thats a big chance your taking....

There are heads in the sand, but mine isn't one of them. You will never protect me, your current mindset makes it impossible.

And if you think I'm uninvolved in changing things, you are so sadly mistaken. I'll bet anything you want that I am more engaged than you.

I'm just not engaged in whistling past the graveyard.

Our enemies are here not only as guests, but many are citizens. (Many because the Clinton Admin. handed out citizenship to anybody to boost the democratic vote.) Many people have a problem with treating even the guests in the way that you suggested.

I'm fairly certain that the rights of those guys they busted in NY were trampled upon. I'm certain their phones were tapped and they had no privacy. And I'm glad. I don't know any other way to look at it. They hate the very country that gave them the freedom to dissent. In their own countries, they would never have had that freedom. I don't support 'big brother' but I truly know of no other way to protect this nation at this time.

I swear I'm seeing circular reasoning here. And no answers. Help me out, OWK. I'm as free as I was September 10th. Are you not?

Are you arguing for the suspension of the rights of citizens?

I don't doubt you "do not understand", -- mainly because no citizens are tieing anyones hands.
The government should be bound by the constitution.
Even in times of war. - Try to understand that simple truth.
