Such a direct and common sense president
October 3 2002 | Brad-myself

Posted on 10/4/2002, 1:19:06 AM by bradactor

Again, I watched President Bush just speak on television talking about terrorism insurance and jobs and defense. This man is so honest and direct and talks with such plain sense, just like he did to the UN, that it is hard to find argument, only likeability. The problem really lies with the cynicism we face today, a lot I might add has been the result of politicians putting power above people. The more you hear and watch President Bush speak, the more one should be absolutely grateful that he is in the job. I know he probably feels like shooting congress right now for not passing these bills which would help those who are suffering. He is not talking about a republican or democrat issue. Whether we acknowledge or not we are at war and being at war, political rules do not really apply. Daschle and the democrats have shown their true colors at being so interested in power politics instead of where we are now. There are also people out there, including some ex military or politicians, that do not understand, we are not in a cold war world. This is a whole different panorama and involves a larger host of enemies than us versus Russia. Interestingly enough, a lot of these schizms that have unfolded came as a result of Russia no longer being the power it once was. Some of them were under the arms and control of Communist Russia, but the world changed. What has not been fully understood is that with freedom comes responsibility, but when freedom is opened then a lot of old Pandora Box imagery and thoughts of past ills can be unleased. We are seeing this happen with old religious and political past ills being replayed in the world we know today. Personally, I feel this is a warring universe and probably always will be. This seems to be a divine testing ground to teach our higher selves a lesson.

All I can say is that divine intervention brought our leader into office and will continue to keep him alive and well. This is an historical moment beyond all. Some want to play political games with it but I always remember the statement which I know may offend some but it is , "All things are in the hands of God." Personally, to me it does not matter whether you see God as a personal being or a great divine force. I mean what doeds it matter to God. But there is a higher force that works and also gives us free will to choose our steps.

Anyway, this was suppose to be about President Bush. And it is. I believe this man follows a higher divine voice to lead him in every decision.

Blessings to all, Brad

Thanks, Brad! I bought the new Bill Sammon book, and one of the things that Sammon describes in the book is President Bush taking the time to greet the working folks where he visits...waitresses, bellhops, maintenance guys, etc.

We are very blessed to have him as our President.

"The more you hear and watch President Bush speak" It's embarassing that he is so inarticulate but it is somwhat endearing also.

One should NEVER confuse verbal pomposity with wisdom. Fortunately for us, the President possesses/exhibits the latter rather than the former!!!

I must say that I have noticed a vast, vast improvement in the President's speaking ability! I consider him a powerful speaker now, which I didn't always. His speeches make me feel proud, patriotic, resolute and strong. He talks plain common sense and he doesn't use weasel words like clinton did. He's a wonderful President and I'm glad both of you agree. I do believe God put him in office and I am eternally grateful.

GIVEN ALL THE FORCES running around loose in this world even just nationally--on TOP OF the international terrorists, I BELIEVE WE REALLY NEED TO PRAY FOR HIS SAFETY.

Even the nightmare vision/dream several diverse people have had of Bush's limo being rocketed and somehow Clinton or someone equal ending up as DICTATOR--that's enough to give any sane person the very black willies.

Let all believers pray earnestly for Bush's protection and guidance by God Almighty.

I am amazed at how he usually passes up an opportunity to put down political slams where they are clearly wrong, only to come back with a bi-partisan response to get the job done. I realize afterwards he was right.

I am concerned now that Clinton has decided to surface in an international forum to muddy the waters. I suspect he is doing what he has always done, to search the limits of the envelope, to find how far he can go. Someone in the administration of with influence should challenge him to get out of the picture.

Bush rose to assumed the mantle of leadership and became a statesman (with a legacy).

Clinton is about Clinton, which is all he will ever be.

Oh I agree, perfectly! You put the thoughts and sentiments a lot of us have, and can't always express, adequately! There are such leaders that come along at a puzzling and frightening time.

They weren't always perfect people, they didn't have to be, but God worked through them, whether it was in the realm of faith, or politically, or both. G. Bush may just be one of them that God puts in there at just the right moment.

Bush communicates across a wider spectrum of Americans than the average Republican politician does. People identify with his verbal flaws and feel that he is not speaking down to them. Sonny Bono also connected across ideologies.

Thanks for sharing this Brad. It is a great essay on our President, and exactly one of the reasons I supported him from the beginning. Americans like the straight talking types, I mean, think about how popular John Wayne was. Sounds like a silly comparison perhaps, but I really believe it holds true.
