Eric Rudolph is probably as dead as Osama bin Laden.
... Or they're both working at the same Eastern Oregon car wash.

so they have to release heavy-handed, maudlin sermonettes over the airwaves to keep us from running amuck I can't wait to hear the public service announcements.

So what would motivate two assailants to randomly target five victims in a Maryland suburb, and possibly a sixth in D.C., killing each with a single shot from a high-powered rifle? Trying to strike terror into the hearts of U.S. citizens? The shootings were consistent with Al Qaida training tapes
One of the motives for attacking the WTC was to disrupt the US economy. For the past year, consumer spending has been propping up the economy. The attacks in Maryland and today in Virginia could have been designed to strike terror into the hearts of U.S. citizens as you said but it also could have been intended to keep them indoors and away from public places. I posted on another thread that I had been thinking for a while that such random and anonymous attacks would make sense as the next step. The impression will be that no place is safe.
If these attacks are the work of terrorists, I would expect to see similar attacks in other regions of the country. My guess (and it is only that) would be the suburban shopping areas around other large cities, say Chicago, St. Louis or Dallas.
If other such attacks do not occur or further attacks occur in the same corridor as the current attacks, I would chalk it up to an isolated group of individuals - terrorists or not.

It CANNOT be Islamic terrorists because Bo Gritz GUARANTEED us last week that there would be no more Islamic terrorism unless we attacked Iraq.

"...Lon Horuchi would be proud..." Hmmm...
I wonder if that trigger-happy little sack of shit can account for his whereabouts during this event's time frame?

If you have a carry permit, or live in a free state, now's the time to exercise your 2nd Amendment duty and stay vigilant, ... It wouldn't make any difference if you were walking around with a Tommy Gun if you get hit by a rifle from a distance without any warning. Most vests, the ones you can stand to wear all day long, won't stop rifle bullets either.

What is the possiblities that these shootings are part of a soon to be expanding terror campaign. What would be more terroizing than random shooting all over the country. In the mall parking lot, on the golf course, coming out of church, walking in the park etc. I hope this is not the case, but I did hear someone on the radio talking this.

Didn't stop MS-NBC from reporting it as a hate crime yesterday morning:
Brainless Dude to Big Hair Bimbo: "you can't help but noticing that these are all .. er, 'people of color' and wondering .... Big Hair Bimbo: "er, yeah, is it a hate crime?" In our segement we talk to down and out actress Susan Smith about her secret addiction to inhaling hair spray and how it almost cost her a career as a celebrity spokesmodel for a leading rubber boot company. Jim ...

But let's say you are walking into you local Pizza Hut and you see a white box truck parked in the corner of the lot with one guy in the driver's seat and another guy poking the barrel of a rifle out the back. Might be nice to be carrying then.

At the ranges these guys have been shooting at, you'd need to carry a Carl Gustav. Just to clarify, I meant that someone who is not the target might spot the truck and perps while they are casing someone else. In that case, there may be opportunity to intervene.

If these attacks are the work of terrorists, I would expect to see similar attacks in other regions of the country. So far, Islamic terrorists have not shown any high degree of skill in anything, except secrecy, subterfuge, deception, theft, fraud, cold-blooded murder and a willingness to die for the demonic Allah.
I definitely don't rule these shootings out as terrorism, but given that this perp is skilled in marksmanship, how many other Islamists with similar skills would you expect to find in other areas of the country?

"The victims were not wounded." Hmmm ..... wonder what killed them?<<<
My *guess* is what they meant was they were "one-shot-dead," rather than a bullet or two that was not fatal. But hey, I'm no 6-figure FBI expert!

Sort of reminds of a sniper reported in Israel a few months ago -- a brazen, yet calculating shooter who hit his targets. Chechnian, Bosnian, maybe. As I remember he'd leave the rifle, just a stock bolt action.
