Republican Chairman Asks Walters to Stay in the Race

OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma Republican Party Chairman Chad Alexander today asked Democrat Party Chairman, Jay Parmley, and candidate David Walters to assure the voters of Oklahoma that the Democrat Party will not seek to replace Walters as their party's nominee for United State Senate.

"Given the fact that David Walters is 24 points down in the polls, has an ethically and legally challenged past and tries to drag his opponent down to his level with attacks and lies, I want to make sure he continues his candidacy," Alexander said. "I would hate to see something happen in Oklahoma like what just took place in Bob Torricelli's senate race in New Jersey. Up there, Torricelli found himself 14 points down in the polls and had a past similar to David Walters'. He dropped out of the race and created a problem in the state's court system so the Democrats could replace him with a viable candidate. I wouldn't want that for Oklahoma.

"David Walters is the best thing for the Oklahoma Republicans since Bill Clinton ran for President. That is why I'm asking David Walters to continue his candidacy."

Same here about Walters. I read this in my email and started laughing. Chad Alexander is great as the head of the OK GOP.

Living here in Oklahoma is great! Like you said -- very long memories around here!

Ole Okie -- Don't you wish you were back here?

You bet your boots! If David Walters is running, I need to be back to vote against him, again.

I'm busy pulling for Saxby Chambliss here in Georgia.

It appears that Zell will never flip, and Max Cleland is well beloved of Georgians (even though his voting record appears to be similar to Submarine Commander Teddy Kennedy's), but a Chambliss win would really help in the Senate.

At any rate, BEAT MIZZOU!!

I thought I'd actually do this, just for grins. Here's my note to the Dallas Morning News:

There is an article that appeared on http://www.okgop.org/ which I thought was interesting. It concerned the Oklahoma Senate race in which the GOP asked the Democrats NOT to pull the same stunt in Oklahome that Torricelli and the Democrats pulled in New Jersey. The above website is being worked on currently, but I found the article posted here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/763207/posts

Below is the text of this very short article. Can you check with Ron Kirk to find out if he plans on staying on the ballot in Texas for Senate?

Thank you.

I copied the text of this article. I doubt I hear back from them though. LOL!
