Oh my gosh! I had forgotten about all of that! It was so fun reading at the time, one of the few funny things in such a nightmare we were all having together. Seeing it here brought back the memories. You guys were so creative and so humorous.
Angelique was so unique, she always brought a little touch of laughter into any thread she was posting on.

Beautiful post Carlo. We are all human, and sometimes we say things we shouldn't, and don't really mean. Since we are all like that, I am sure she understood.
She certainly touched a lot of hearts, and obviously was a very brave lady if those close to her here were not aware of what she was going through. May God hold her in the palm of His Hand.

You have written both a beautiful tribute and an important reminder to the living to cherish those they have.

You're right about holding family and friends closer. Our stay here is short. We have to cherish what we have before time does its thing.
When my daughter was graduating from high school, she needed an inspirational line to put beneath her photo on her yearbook page. Nothing seemed to be quite right. As she hunted for just the right words in poems and music lyrics, I came across this ancient Egyptian prayer. It goes, "Love be between you and time in all the empty places you must walk." I would wish this for you and Angelique and all those who have made my journey through FR a cherished experience.

Sully Prudhomme (1839-1907)
Here Below
On earth all lilacs fade too fast,
The songs of birds are brief as day;
I dream of summers that will last
For aye ....
On earth is lovers' joy soon past,
No kiss its pressure can outstay;
I dream of kisses that will last
For aye ....
On earth men view with hearts downcast
Their friends and loves of yesterday;
I dream of unions that will last
For aye ....

The past few days have been like a confusing blur, everything speeding one moment, then suddenly my mind was in an agonizing slow-motion. With each posted message I recalled another memory, one more antidote, a choked back tear, ..a muffled chuckle.... a smile ..... a longing for just one more word I could have said to her or she to me. I wished I could say something to make everyone know and love her as much as we did...do.....to make everyone know how very special she truly was..is ......to make everyone know how much I appreciated what they had to say... to her, about her, especially to me.
Thank you from her close friends, to each and every one of you, from the bottom of my heart... Carlo

The gift of friendship is one that lives beyond our physical lives...she lives in your memory . Then thank God for the opportunity of meeting her and loving her...that is a rare gift in our lives

I was away from FR for most of the last 10 days or so. I last spoke with Angelique in May. I have taken a few minutes to assemble a collection of quotes from Angelique on the subject that seemed most dear to her: freedom. On this battlefield of words, Angelique was tireless and courageous beyond belief in the face of the enemies of freedom. I hope that these thoughts of hers will linger a very long time in the hearts of those of you who fought beside her for the cause of freedom, as well as those who did not know Angelique until later. These are gut-wrenchingly brave and bold statements Angelique made to me in emails; they truly symbolize everything that is great about America. Behold THIS LEGACY!..gg188 Gg188: From Angelique | 2001-11-27 05:49:22 read
...I still cannot get that picture of the Elian raid out of my head. My papa cannot either.

My initiation to forums was the one of my local radio show. It is defunct now, but the reason I ventured to FR resulted from the ache of fighting with supposed "conservatives" about Elian staying here.
Slowly, we give our Freedom away. We watched as Congress sat on their hands as Clinton bellied up to Castro and allowed the JaNUT to snatch Elian. You know, of course, that Hellary spent some time in college in Cuba. And then, of course, Billybob was in Russia.
Sending Elian back, and courting the commies in doing so, is the darkest day in our history. My papa still gets tears in his eyes. It was so wrong, and history better tell it right! Whoever wanted Elian back to Cuba is not deserving to even speak words about Freedom!

We've talked about it before, but no one on the face of the planet can be a decent human being and believe that Elian should have been sent back.

....While we can have disagreements within the spectrum of conservatism, there are certain tenets that cannot be compromised, i.e. Elian staying free.

...it is impossible to make peace with any of those folks who wanted to send Elian back. Those folks are NOT conservatives. I do read the threads, but stay away from posting. There is nothing we can do, but keep him in our prayers.

...a true conservative could have no other position than to keep Elian free. When you consider what Congress did after the Raid, one has to wonder who those true conservatives are.
