First, every time Tenent gives a position that is not "conservative," like Greenspan, it only gives him more credibility in the eyes of the senators so that they can LESS afford to ignore him when he provides information beneficial to us.

Consider how damaging it is for the senators when Greenie tells them that the tax cuts are important---but this came from his "irrational exuberance" comments of years ago, where he "grew" in their eyes. So this doesn't worry me.

Nor does Byrd's delaying action. Every week they delay this---until the election, the better it is for us.

It would not be Bush but his erstwhile powerful supporters who put gun on their heads. Many of them are Jewish folks who switched their attitudes when Israel turned into the land of daily terrorist attacks. Wexler cannot last longer without their helps. Bush is merely a convenient excuse.

I don't quite get Tenet. He's lucky to have a job. If I was Bush, I would have sacked him after 9/11 just to show I was doing something. Now Fat Forehead Paul Begala was using this tack to paint Bush as a warmonger on Crossfire. The Republicans on the show seemed unable to come up with the obvious response: How much sense does it make to allow Saddam to blackmail the US and the world with threats of terrorism only so he can blackmail us in the future with more powerful weapons.
