GOP Taylor Withdrawing from Montana Senate Race
foxnews ^ | 10-10-02 | GRRRRR

Posted on 10/10/2002 8:54:49 AM PDT by GRRRRR

GOP Senate candidate, Mike Taylor is withdrawing from the Montana Senate race, FoxNews said in a breaking news alert at 1045 Central.

Taylor cites increasingly nasty and mean campaign ads run by his opponenet the incumbent Max Baucus D-Montana.

This opens the way, Taylor says, for a write in campaign for another GOP candidate.

Baucus has beem seeking re-election to his fifth term in a state that, according to FOX, has a decidedly Republican tilt.

Marc Racicot.

Why do Republicans have so many losers?
You don't withdraw due to ads, you get out because of things hidden in closets about to come out.

Is there any state which Gore won by >54% of the vote that has a GOP Senator with no RAT challenger?

How come GOP challengers are in trouble in SD, Montana, Louisiana, Missouri?

Let's hope so. Democrats have asked us not to disinfranchize any voters, right? Go big. Go real big. This area has a Repulican slant-usually.

Racicot is not going to run as a write-in. He could have had the nomination fair and square, but said no.

This is so stupid, it made me look at my calendar to see if today was April 1st.

Taylor was the NBA after Racicot. The farm team isn't that strong apparently.

WTH (what the...heck).

I'd rather not do a switcheroo, but I also like giving dem Dems a taste of their own medicine.

I keep telling my wife we live in crazy times, and she believe it, too.

How come GOP challengers are in trouble in SD, Montana, Louisiana, Missouri?

Incumbency? (I wouldn't say Thune is "in trouble" in SD. That one's still too close to call.) In Missouri, Carnahan is the incumbent and probably still has some emotional links to the deceased governor. Can't say for Louisiana.

What was the Bush margin of victory in Montana?

The Missouri Democrat, Gepfart, may have just cooked his goose if we play our cards right. He asked all illegal aliens to vote Democrat in the upcomming election. They had to do it to earn their citizenship.

I have mixed feelings. I would love to see Baucus lose. I would love to see the Democrats hoisted on their own meathook.

At the same time, it would be somewhat sleazy to do, and I don't like that.

However, probably the only way we will get things changed so that the law is enforced is to use this tactic against the Democrats, so I guess I would like it. Go Raicot!

At least we're doing it legally with a write-in campaign, as opposed to the Dems in NJ.
