Myself, I'm going to take care to get gas only on military bases for as long as this goes on.

Got gas at Walter Reed a few days ago. Felt all safe until I heard a train whistle. Remembered at the edge of the base (near the gas station) there is a woods and train tracks. Duh.

Time to formulate Plan B.

The other thing I don't think has been posted on this thread is that the 'white van' has now been located, appears that the driver is talking to cops explaining his presence, which was not to do the shooting!

A rumor is something you don't know to be true. A false rumor would be something you know is a lie. I don't think you are trying to say Battlecry was lying. This was clearly an attempt to offer us some breaking news just as quickly as possible. It came from his wife. I think he reason to trust her. Wouldn't you trust yours?

Do you know Battlecry? I don't. If you don't, how can you suppose he has reason to trust her? Why should we be in such a hurry to start a "breaking news" thread?

I looked but couldn't find that thread. I did find a thread started with only a headline of another shooting. It was a shooting, but a robbery - not related. I hope we don't degrade into starting threads for every shot fired.

It was good work by a FReeper with a first hand report (His wife is a FReeper as well IIRC).

I passed a row of about 8 cop cars, half marked / half unmarked coming home at about 5:15 tonight. Most of the cops were checking the wooded area adjacent to the road. This occurred just before the exit to Falls Road on the side access exit road on 270 North. This is the exit between Montrose(which is further south) and Route 28 Montgomery Avenue, which goes through old town Rockville and meanders East beyond Rockville, becoming Norbeck Road, which crosses route 355 heading down to Georgia Ave. Definitely pretty close to the Aspen Hill area shooting and the Rockville shooting.

Gee, cinFLA - I don't know why you seem to think this is such a big deal, but if you are down to arguing that it is not normal for one to assume a man would trust the word of his wife then I just guess you are having a very bad day.

It seems to me he is definitely in their face like a kicked-out cadet might be. He might have a few unwitting friends still in the department where he get's info without their being aware. He certainly is not getting info from Moose's press conferences.
