My fear is that this cell's sole function is to paralyze the Metro DC-area while a second cell prepares its attacks on the usual Washington targets.

If they were "terrorists," they'd be going after rush-hour traffic at any of the many federal workplaces in that area - like that Paki illegal alien did several years ago in the parking area at CIA headquarters. Their skills would also be much better.

These events are a practice "round" for picking off more "valuable" targets... like representatives and senators maybe. Whether or not it's terrorists is really irrelevant since the authorities will use the same investigative resources anyway.
If part of an al-Qaeda plan, Lord forbid, each takedown might be a signal that a particular aspect of further plans are in place and ready to launch.
Even though these attacks can't be defended effectively with your own firearms, it is still a good time to stress the merits of legal, individual gun ownership in one's community.

We need a nationwide manhunt.
We need to start by intercepting the cell phone and private calls of all islamists in this country.
I believe THEY know where he is headed. I suspect they KNOW who he is too.
We need to watch for wire transfers of money by islamics as well... and we need to seize their "mullah's" checking accounts... personal and mosques... and squeeze the bejeebers out of them, until the buggers eyes bleed.
We will end up having to put an end to the islamist death cult...
religions that preach that the slaugher of innocents, gains entrance to heaven, are murder/death cultists... and as such have NO PROTECTION WHATSOEVER under the first amendment... it's NOT a religion in THIS country, if it preaches KILLING innocents in the name of religious freedom.

I tend to agree with you for these reasons:
1) D.C. is probably at the top of the Al Qaeda target list.
2) 18 urban areas have a population greater than D.C. What are the odds that a domestic crazy would pop up in D.C. instead of one of the other areas with a greater population density? 1 in 19?
3) The Tarot Card Killer has absolutely no conscience and is able to select his target, shoot and cooly make his escape. It's difficult to imagine that even the worst of our domestic serial killers could do that ten times in a row.

I concur. This is extremely effective in our society, as evidenced. Don't think that islmokazi attacks won't come next, but the reason why I lean to islamonuts is because a)as weapons, they are a limited resource within America right now, maybe numbering hundreds or even thousands, but this fits the new 'terror against Americans in America' MO, and b)these islamonuts are capable of thinking outside of the 'box' better than we are right now, IMHO.
Of course, 50,000 concealed-armed/trained citizens prowling around would maybe change this situation. Nonetheless, 9-11 should have started the most serious profiling exercise in our nation's history, which would greatly dissuade a prolonged attack of this kind, again, IMHO.

Absolutely. Even if the shooter(s) turn out to be caucasian, they are terrorists. The MO does not fit either the drive by or lone gun nut.
