"it can detect the heat from a discharged firearm. Banned useage would reduce false alarms."

Yes, it can but this is not how it will be used. It will be joined with ground based listening devices. Sound is easier to pick up than light.

Due to the Media coverage of the use of the military aircraft, the perps will have to move to another area.

As for hours, these are quasi-government employees, since they work closely with the USDA-Natural Resource Conservation Service. Environmental and ag-oriented inspectors typically are non-exempt from federal overtime labor laws, even if they are salaried. This means that they rarely work outside of 8-5 (and, if they work out of their home, they usually they start their work day at 8 a.m. when they leave their house (as opposed to the rest of us who leave our houses on our own time to be AT WORK at 8 a.m., and they make sure they are walking in their front door at 5 p.m.).

"I been intrigued by your suspicions, but may have missed some of your posts. Did LEO ever return your calls? Do they have the specific information about your theory? Will you split the reward (just kidding)?"

I have gotten a lot of help from fellow Freepers and it's nice how noone here discounts what others theories are. True Americans! The best help I got was from a nice officer in Fairfax 30 minutes after the last shooting. I had just found out that morning that a guy I suspected as living in Hampton, may live on a road in Fairfax directly center down Lee Hwy. from both #10 and #12 shootings. She said she would run the info down to someone right away. This was the first Authority to take the time to listen to me after the word paintball. There have been no shootings since, and I am crossing my fingers that I may have helped.

I saw an interview with a Liquor store owner whose clerk was shot in the torso in front of the store. This incident happened about a week before the first reported incidents. The store owner was out on the sidewalk in front of the store talking with the clerk, when the clerk said that he felt a pain in his side/chest. The clerk fell to the sidewalk. The clerk did survive. There was just one shot that the owner said seemed to come from nowhere. They showed the bullet hole that went through the front window of the store. The Liquor store was located in a strip center. But I am not sure if it was in DC, Maryland or Virginia.

Do you know if these inspectors would travel as far as 2 to 3 hours away from home in a day? Also, would they perhaps use a white van?

PLEASE CHECK YOUR FREEPMAIL SOON! (I am posting this public reply first). They WOULD travel 2 to 3 hours in a day in farming areas of the Great Plains, but I don't know about your area where there is more urban and "hobby" farming.

Does anyone have more on the story that surfaced yesterday about a shooter in a white van at Catholic University? What happened?

"Walsh stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night!"

Just great.

Walsh: "I'm not an expert, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night".

There is a heavily wooded, private park just outside of my town that has been converted into a commercial paintball war zone (for lack of a better description). A friend of mine joined this group several years ago, played for a few weekends, and then abruptly quit. When I asked why, he explained that some of these folks took the game too seriously. The playing field was very uneven due to the elaborate expense some players would go to.

It is my understanding that the more expensive guns have adjustable air pressure, tighter clearances, and expel the paint balls with incredible force. Since they shoot each other, guys just playing around would literally get hurt. He described the competition as extremely serious and some of the players didn't consider this a game. It is an odd mentality.

Should the shooter/shooters turn out to be foreign terrorists, I shudder to think of the sheer panic and apprehension difficulty we will face. I for one, sure hope you're suspicions are right.

re: Your post 22. I think you are right on the money. Outside of the beltway it will be forgotten in a week. I was in the bank yesterday and two tellers were talking. They had CNN on the television and one teller said something to the effect of "I wish they would just catch this guy, I'm sick of hearing about it" The other telling, inquiring what she was talking about said something to the effect of "Oh, is that that "I am god" guy". These were like women 30 years old.

Yep, these are your fellow citizens, scary isn't it? Now you see why the cover-ups are so easy.

"THE OTHER BELTWAY SHOOTER."

If you had found the after action reports, you would have read that this was a text-book hit. Stop the vehicle in front of the target and the two to either side to block target's vehicle and then make the confirmed kill (head shattered). Then leave the area.

"Outside of the beltway it will be forgotten in a week."

I agree, human nature the way it is. So, for maximum terror, these jerks will pack it up in DC (after the 9 for 11 sequence) and move on to another area to start up again. (I pray I am wrong.)

Thank you for that post. Most seem to think it's a game for teenagers but if they did some research they would see much older people, perhaps getting there thrills, killing people legally. Not All! but maybe some.

If, when the shooter is caught, if he is not a foreigner, I will bare my derriere in Macy's window.

Could be citizen. But if it isn't AQ inspired...

100% on target. I was working at the front desk of our H.S. last week and mentioned the sniper to a teacher. He said, "Oh, I don't watch any of that. I find it too disturbing." This was your average middle class white guy. People either don't want to know, or are too busy to care...as long as it doesn't happen in their neighborhood.

They should now be ready....

Unless they're being watched. I think that out of the hundreds of LEOs there are quite a few working the terror side. I think there's an internal argument going on as to whether to take what they've got or take some risks and try to bring in an entire cell.

Just MHO.
