At one time Cynthia McKinney's district ran from DeKalb County in a jagged line to Savannah, a distance of over 200 miles. We have Max Cleland who might be an erstwhile war hero. We have Bill Campbell, former mayor of Atlanta who's staffers are still being prosecuted. And we have Julian Bond, Ralph David Abernathy, Andrew Young and - worst of all - Jimmah Cahtah.

This Texan has the honor of being represented by Eddie Berniece Johnson, who as chairman of the State Senate Redistricting Committee carved her own Congressional district in the Dallas area, which one journalist likened to a Rohrschach test.

Because of the way she drew her district, it caused surrounding districts to be gerrymandered too. One of them was "contiguous and compact" only at low tide.
