As Michelle Malkin pointed out, this Jamaican illegal was a stowaway and should have been summarily deported from this country. The INS' violation of its own laws has made it complicit in the murder of American citizens. How many more Americans will have to die for our immigration system to be finally fixed? Its clear the INS has other priorities and covering their clymers seems to be more important than protecting American lives.

I believe Michelle is spoken for. What a catch. A beauty with brains and guts to speak the truth.

Sad.
Some Freepers are Coulter-aholics, I'm definitely a Malkinophile.
I heard she was married to a leftist. Please, someone, tell me that's not true!

As I document in my book, Invasion, these countless "catch and release" cases have demoralized rank-and-file INS agents and cost scores of American lives-from cops gunned down by fugitive deportees to victims of illegal border-crossing murderers, and now, quite possibly, to the innocents slaughtered in the Washington, D.C., area sniping spree. Great post.
It's not the rank and file in the INS, it's the leadership who need to be let go. Nothing we say will change them because their heads are thicker than bricks. FIRE THEM!!

While Ms. Malkin has some definite views regarding illegal immigration (which are not entirely wrong), this particular case does not fit in with the sort of stuff -- country or scenario -- that she describes in the context of terrorist threats. Michelle's a looker, but she's got an agenda and has in the past not shied away from bending the facts to suit it.
Which facts has she bent?
Illegals are one the enterprises which facilitate the terrorists' presence here, from transport to false documentation.

I want to see the President walking to his helicopter w/ a copy of Invasion...I don't know how to take that. If he's that uninformed, no wonder we have border problems. Actually, I don't believe GWB is uninformed.

Her husband is a Freeper in good standing, and quite a nice gent.

Why is this no surprise?

Which facts has she bent? Ms. Malkin several months back wrote a particularly bent column about immigration -- and after that one I've stopped paying much attention to her. It's in the archives someplace, and you're free to try to find it. I'm not really inclined to hunt it down.

Wonder if she reads freerepublic: Sniper Suspect Illegal Alien!!
She and her husband are both Freepers, though she mostly lurks these days. She was already on top of this when the thread posted, but I think he saw it here.

It will require a definite 'lead, follow, or get out of the way' 'can do' attitude from a revised and revamped INS with a mandate from the people upon our President, but cleaning up our system CAN be done. I am not a defeatist in this regard.
At the end of the day, the question tonight for our Republic (for any sovereign republic with sovereign national borders deserving control and respect) is:
"Is it sustainable to have a situation where so many MILLIONS of non-Americans are allowed into the country, either legally or illegally, where their situation and activities and location cannot be easily verified, and their intent or respect and love for this country cannot be guaranteed, especially in this time of growing anti-American terrorism?"My own thought: No, It Is Not Sustainable. It Is No Longer Sustainable. It Is Unacceptable.

Cherry koolaide or lime? It's beneath you to sound like a bumper sticker.
