Can you believe the snipers were actually lurking in the background, and at one time their blue chevy even getting caught on news footage, of that fiasco of the white van with the two mexican immigrants? This is chilling and absolutely outrageous .....

I think D.C. Chief Ramsey told his guys to keep looking for the Caprice though. Chief Ramsey was livid after the arrest that he WAS NOT told about the blue Caprice. He said they were looking for a white male in a white van.

I've heard rumors that scoring too high on a police IQ test can disqualify you. Don't know if that is urban rumor or fact. It is sad, but it is fact. There was a well publicized case not too long ago where someone was disqualified for scoring to high on the exam. he went to court, but in the end he lost.

If the priest and later the cops were told of the murder in Alabama by the sniper and they had the fingerprint off the magazine to identify the guy, why didn't they use the fingerprint before to catch the guy for the single murder? The explanation given so far is that Alabama is not set up to automatically dump its new fingerprints into the national, automatic system to have them checked/make them available to others. One "authority" said that it is a matter of money not being spent for this in Alabama, but it looked as though he was guessing.

Claims of warnings about the pair to police BEFORE the killings started were piling up last night.
The Rev Al Archer, who runs the Lighthouse Mission Centre in Bellingham where the pair once lived, said he suspected the Gulf War veteran was a terrorist after September 11.
He said Muhammad distributed pro-Islam brochures, made anti-American slurs and also threatened to kill cops. He added: "If he'd been stopped at that time, a lot of people would be alive who are now dead."
Mr Archer revealed that Muhammad, who was existing on handouts, started travelling extensively by air. Harjeep Singh, who knew the snipers at a YMCA gym, said he was alarmed at their vow to go on a gun-rampage, targetting cops and fuel tankers.
Police and an FBI agent interviewed Mr Singh but no action was taken.
There were also chilling new revelations last night about how Malvo and Muhammad mocked police by repeatedly slipping through dragnets.
Their 1990 blue Chevrolet Caprice a killing machine with holes in the boot to fire throughwas first noted by police on October 3, just 24 hours after the first killing. But it was lost in the system while the entire hunt centred on a white van.
Meanwhile, Muhammad was stopped or spoken to by officers TEN times for various traffic offences.
During a spot-check on October 8, he was parked and asleep at the wheel. But cops failed to look in the boot, where they would have found the Bushmaster XM15 rifle.
The most chilling escape was last Monday when two illegal immigrants in a white van were held in a swoop as they used a phone booth being staked out by cops.
Muhammad and Malvo had given the number of the booth to detectives in a phone call. And just yards away, they were lurking in their blue Chevy, watching every move in the fiasco.
The car was even caught in the background on news footageand still the jigsaw did not piece together.
Finally, police realised the car they were looking for. But Chief Charles Moose refused to reveal the number plate. It was only when one of his team leaked it that the pair were found one-and-a-half hours later.

I just don't comment on things I know nothing about. sinkspur -- 10/27/2002.
This terrorist is homegrown, he's white, and he's young.

At the time, law enforcement was going with what the previous profiles had been, 95% of the time. They were going on the PC profile and ignoring the fact that we are at war with militant muslims; many of which in the US are black.

I was thinking that it would have been interesting for LE to tape the cars going through the roadblocks and later see if they had passed them through. They had this guy on photo for running a redlight after one of the shootings.

How many other license plate numbers were also recorded six times, or even seven? We don't know.I would guess that this was the ONLY one that was run 10 times.

These cretins had to practically beg the cops to arrest them.
The cops "investigation" is NOT the reason they are in custody.
They probably never would have caught them if they had not started calling the police.
These cops are so incompetent they should immediately apply for jobs at the CIA and FBI.

"But Chief Charles Moose refused to reveal the number plate. "He refused? You mean they weren't even going to give that out?

No, hindsight points NOW to someone other than the usual profile of a serial killer. The police vision was "channeled" to look for a white male serial killer. I said right away that this was a terrorist act, not a serial killer. Terrorist = Islamic. Poor English means illegal immigrant.

I think there was a guy on 60 minutes who wasn't chosen by a police department because his IQ was too high. The reasoning was because the police department didn't want to invest the type of money it takes to train someone if in their opinion, someone with that high of an IQ would never stick with being a law enforcement officer....

I would be willing to bet that most police departments don't have access to the INS's fingerprinting database. I think this case caused the government to pull out all stops perhaps as a result of the Department of Homeland Security?

Careful observers will have already noted that pointing out an inconsistency is hardly the same as claiming omniscience.

"At the time, law enforcement was going with what the previous profiles had been, 95% of the time."This case is a first. It is the first time someone has gone around just killing strangers and not sticking around. There was no sex connection here. The only places where there are profiles of this sort of killer are in foreign lands.
