Well, we have come to the point where the rubber meets the road. We all have our opinions or gut feelings about what is going to happen in this election. Here is your chance to carve your opinions into stone, or at least, into FR's data base. Tomorrow, or whenever we find out the results, wouldn't it be nice to have the whole world know that you nailed it on the head?

I've picked ten races, just to make the post election math easier. Wanna play?

Hutchinson (R) - Pryor (D) Senate in Arkansas
Chambliss (R) - Cleland (D) Senate in Georgia
Coleman (R) - Mondale (D) Senate in Minnesota
Talent (R) - Carnahan (D) Senate in Missouri
Sununu (R) - Shaheen (D) Senate in New Hampshire
Dole (R) - Bowles(D) Senate in North Carolina
Thune (R) - Johnson (D) Senate in South Dakota
Simon (R) - Davis (D) Governor of California
Bush (R) - McBride (D) Governor of Florida
Ehrlich (R - Townsend (D) Governor of Maryland

OK..Ten races...how many will you get right?

No prizes in this FR contest except the bragging rights and a time/date stamp on your post url, to prove your prognostication prowess!

OK, I didn't amend in time. I stepped away from my desk after I asked the question and just got back a second ago. S'OK, I'll live with infamy of picking Carnahan. Although Lord knows what I was thinking.

Don't want to get too competitive on this one -- not a big Rush fan anyway! :)

this is the kind of abuse I must tolerate in dealing with this ol' curmudgeon.

HA! Where are those pesky Moderators when you really need one, eh?

Hearing the allegations of vote fraud in Chicago/Cook County. GASP--woulda thunk it?

Let's review what FoxNews has so far (called winners in bold, leaders underlined with latest available vote totals from FoxNews.com):

Hutchinson (R) - Pryor (D) Senate in Arkansas
Chambliss (R) - Cleland (D) Senate in Georgia
Coleman (R) 53% - Mondale (D) 44% Senate in Minnesota (7% precincts reporting)
Talent 52% (R) - Carnahan 47% (D) Senate in Missouri (45% precincts reporting)
Sununu (R) - Shaheen (D) Senate in New Hampshire
Dole (R) - Bowles(D) Senate in North Carolina
Thune (R) 49% - Johnson (D) 50% Senate in South Dakota (43% precincts reporting)
Simon (R) 44% - Davis (D) 47% Governor of California (8% of precincts reporting)
Bush (R) - McBride (D) Governor of Florida
Ehrlich (R) - Townsend (D) Governor of Maryland

It doesn't look good for my dark horse, McCallum. Jim BingoDoyle (D-Madistan) has a 46-42 lead with 56% of the vote in. Worse for us Cheddar Brains, the "prosecutorial" apparatus looks like it will remain in RAT hands.

Ehh...if I recall you weren't too enthusiastic about Sununu until a certain Midlothian resident changed your mind.

Where's my autographed copy of Rush's book???

Thank you, thank you.

I would like to take this time to thank everyone who has helped me on this long road to victory. I want to thank my Mom, who .....

Aw, shucks...it was a no-brainer. My finger has been up (no, not that ONE!) in the air testing the mood of the American People for the past two weeks. I even called the Iowa elections. But that was a disappointment

Lookin' like MN and SD are both gonna go GOP, so the Final Tally appears to be 53 GOP Senate seats, with Louisiana hangin' in the balance fer 54.

Rush said, "No Gloating!!", so I shan't, but I could...MUD

For a Limey and a Brit, MadIvan seems to be a better-than-good guy. He's my new hero.

P.S. He's very astute about American politics and I always enjoy his posts from over the "pond".

Kudos MI!

Consider it done, my freind.

Even though I already have an autographed copy of Rush's book, "See, I Told You So", this copy will be proudly displayed and I will insert a card stating the reason for the award plus a print out of this thread.

For Victory and Freedom!
On behalf of all the Freepers who participated, I thank the committee for this honor, We all won yesterday.

If only I had called Sununu <VBG>. Seriously, the South Dakota race is too close to call (at the moment, El Diablo D'Asshole's protoge has a 545-vote lead with 843 of 844 precincts reporting).

The committee has decided. Unless you are willing sue for a recount, of which I will defend my award to the highest court available.

Oops, deja vu to Florida, circa 2000 [shudder].

Actually, I'll be willing to await the certified results from SoDak.

Maybe there's a lesson here....Don't give up on the American Electorate and Keep The Faith, Baby!

Even if the Johnson/D'Asshole Fraud Machine does survive the recount and court challenge (the final, semi-official numbers from South Dakota has Johnson winning by 528 votes with all 844 precincts reporting), your 9-of-10 happened first.

Enjoy the book. I was hoping for a Rush Limbaugh signature, but I'll have to settle for it on my Vast Right Wing Conspiracy coffee mug. Besides, my unmentioned dark horse died in turn four.
