AWAITING THE RETURNS List freedoms we've lost since the ACLU began "defending" our civil liberties

Posted on 11/05/2002 3:18:03 PM PST by Liz

(1) Right to life lost: Unborn and partially born children have lost their right to live.

(2) The constitutional right to own firearms has been diluted and could be lost completely.

(3) Right to stress-free environment: Schoolchildren are regularly put at risk of various crimes in classrooms; all Americans need to lock their doors.

(4) Right to privacy lost: Cameras everywhere, in stores, on city streets, etc. thanks to protecting civil liberties of criminals who roam free.

(5) Government of the people, by the people, for the people morphed into government of the hypenated-American, by the hyphenated-American, for the hyphenated- American.

(6) Right to fair elections: Democratic process ruled by special interests and big money.

(7) Right to honest government: The Clintons were elected, and relected.....

(8) Democracy imperiled: Big Brother government is taken for granted when it should be considered an outrage.

(9) Right to free association: Political correctness rules.

(10) Equal footing as Americans lost: Some of us are more equal than others thanks to the ACLU.

Free speech lost: Liberal media overkill.

I don't think the ACLU has been at all to blame for the blackened hole where the Tenth Amendment used to be.

Not unless one considers that the ACLU has been able to elevate its influence to the point of reserving for itself, the powers reserved to the States respectively, or the People.

No such right, we only have the right to choose our gubment. Nothing in the Const. that says the gubment of our choosing must be honest.
