Please correct my naivety (sp?)...
What is the Posse Comatatus Law and what is O'Reilly's view on it?
To: panther33
O'Reilly has come out for changing the Posse Commatus Law. The law forbids the use of the military in a civilian law enforcement role, however the National Guard is excluded.

He feels the military needs to assist law enforcement in certain situations. I oppose it because it could to abuses of power by the Feds. (Let's debate this issue another time and trash the drunken fossil Moyers now.)

There is no comparison to PBS/NPR and the decent BBC.You must be joking. The BBC, especially BBC Radio, makes Rosa Luxemburg look like Maggy Thatcher. The BBC has always been a heavily-biased left-wing sanctimonious organ. They're far to the left of PBS and NPR. Scary.

ok :-)

Congressional hearings on these financial dealings should be done next year. We didn't get the job done the last time we tried to defund PBS, because we didn't control the debate. Once taxpayers see how their money is being wasted, we can have the public on our side to cut the taxpayer funding.

The rock has been lifted off of another liberal dirtbag. The news for the DemonRats just keeps getting worse.
I'll bet 3/4 of these commentators are financing Yasser Arafart.

I have listened regularly for 30 years.
As recently as 5 years ago I still thought them fairly impartial.
Now I don't listen any more for more than 5 minutes,
just to see what they are up to.
One small example: The BBC in their impartial reports frequently refers to 'the warmongers' in Bush's cabinet.

"Defund PBS"Excellent idea. In fact, the mantra of the incoming Congress should be a top to bottom review of how to "Defund the Left."
Democrats are already at a disadvantage because of the soft money ban, and they have more Senate seats to defend in the next two elections. Republicans can cement their majority by turning off the cash nozzle of taxpayer funds that wind up among the long and sundry "public policy groups" that are nothing more than fronts for leftist advocacy.
To: Sparta
Mr. Hayes said that Moyers finances many left-wing organizations. Sure wish we could get a list of who these groups are. I'll bet it would be damning.

It would be very impressive if the congress and senate did away with all tax payer funded leftist organizations and entities. If their ideas are not valuable enough on the free market, then the trash bin of history is their just due.

If you are looking for a spine in the Pubbie camp you will be looking a long time.

When are the Republicans, who control everything now, going to get the spine to defund that disgusting waste of money? For those who want to defund PBS/NPR, as I do with every fiber in my body, click on my name. You'll see a list of 100+ Republicans who refused to reduce "Public Broadcasting" just 1%.
Don't give up! Just recognize that we have to educate 'em!

Please, please, please abolish PBS I don't care if it's abolished. I just want the taxpayer support to stop.
Let them get their money the old-fashioned way.
Get sponsors. (If they can.)

Well, surprise, surprise.... my liberal Congress-scumbag, Greenwood, voted "no". He's a RINO Democrat infil-traitor of the lowest form. The prospects of unloading him around here are not good, but fortunately he has reached the highest level he'll ever get to. Unfortunately, though he originally supported term limits and said he would only serve two or three (I forget) terms, he is a career parasite.
