Florida authorities have arrested a man suspected of exposing himself while burglarizing several homes and attacking women over the past two years.
Jack Twardokus, 44, was charged by Naples police Monday with one count of burglary and one count of sexual battery.
Last month, Collier County sheriff's deputies had arrested Twardokus on burglary and resisting arrest charges. On Monday, the sheriff's office also added a burglary and sexual battery charge against Twardokus.
He is believed to have entered the homes at night, either naked or with his genitals exposed, to terrorize, fondle or rape his victims.
"This is someone who doesn't think like you and I do," Naples police spokesman Jon Maines said.
Twardokus also confessed Monday to four other incidents police had been investigating, the oldest one of those dating back to June 2000.
Naples police tested a sample of Twardokus' DNA after he was arrested by sheriff's deputies, and found that it linked him to a sexual assault of an elderly woman.
Twardokus has been held at Collier County Jail since Oct. 19, when he was arrested after being caught exposing his genitals to a couple in a hot tub.
Twardokus told police that personal problems drove him to the crime spree. His son was seriously injured in a car crash in 2000, and has been confined to a wheelchair since.
More charges against Twardokus could be pending, police said.

Why, sure. It's easy to connect the dots here. Just as Night follows Day, son in wheelchair means Dad must break into homes and show his weenie to people and rape old women and end up in jail, unable to do his son any earthly good...
I swear to God I am getting tired of the excuses criminals offer...
Actually, it was probably those Bush tax cuts (for the richest 1%, doncha know) that drove him over the edge to his insanity.
there's something about that... name.
Naples police detective Ed Principe said Monday that Twardokus, who works as an elevator repairman, told authorities he had certain unexplained "urges" and went on burglary and sexual assault sprees as a result of personal problems."He said he had a lot of family problems through the years," Principe said. "His son was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident and is confined to a wheelchair. He's saying to us that the events of the son pushed him over the edge."
Principe said Twardokus revealed that his son suffered the car crash sometime in 2000. Authorities say Twardokus began his alleged crimes in June 2000. Principe said Twardokus broke down in tears last week during questioning by authorities.
"He started off as peeper," Principe said. "Most of these (crimes), he was committing them while he was sexually aroused."
Ya think?
Ed Principe really puts the "detect" in "detective", don't he?
And that picture---eeeeeew....
If you want on or off this list, please let me know!
Twardokus! Sure!
Or, in this case, the Johnson Award!! :)
I thought it was the lack of a national fired-casings database myself...
