BATON ROUGE -- Sen. Mary Landrieu, whose victory hopes hinge on being able to energize black voters, got a boost Saturday night from famed civil rights leader Jesse Jackson.

Jackson said Landrieu is the best U.S. Senate candidate to help improve the lot of poor people in Louisiana, one of the poorest states in the nation.

I have to agree. Jackson is pretty much the "kiss of death" for Moon Landrieu's little girl.

My word, the Democrats are committing suicide. Jackson is a very polarising figure; also, if I'm not mistaken, many African Americans regard him as "yesterday's news".

Nonetheless, Jackson did his part to help endear her to black voters. He said that a "New South" is emerging in which old racial divisions are giving way to a more harmonious relationship between blacks and whites.

Excuse me, I ned to violently vomit upon hearing this statement coming from of all people Jesse (aka The Vicious Racist Strife Stirrer) Jackson.

The Landrieu camp said it had nothing to do with Jackson's appearance in Baton Rouge or his endorsement. But it could pay dividends for her Dec. 7 when black voter turnout will be critical to whether she can defeat Republican state Elections Commissioner Suzanne Haik Terrell.

I don't envy Landrieu. She desperately needs nearly 100% of the black vote and about 30% of the white vote to carry Louisiana and she has been struggling to get either. And now one of the most polarizing figures in American politics shows up and endorses her.

This may engergize some blacks, but it will more than likely energize the whites to vote against her in masses.

She needs to realize that it's breakfast time and she's toast.

Jesse getting out the black vote?

I would think that most blacks would rather pull white sheets over their heads rather than to be identified with that loser.

He said that a "New South" is emerging in which old racial divisions are giving way to a more harmonious relationship between blacks and whites.

However, he added, all blacks should vote as a monolithic block...

My sources in the South tell me that Jackson has already impregnated Landrieu and that she is expecting mulatto twins. No wonder Jackson wants universal healthcare. His evil spawn are everywhere!

Jesse Jackass is irrelevant. I forgot about that racist before seeing this post. I forgot he was still alive.

I think most blacks really don't want to be associated with him. Well at least the smart ones don't. I don't think he represents the black population in a positive way at all. He, Al Sharpton and their ilk acutally "bring down" black people with their liberal lies.

I thought Jesse worked for a tax exempt organization that couldnt endorse political canidates.

Jesse "the jock", "knock 'em up" Jackson does whatever he pleases and will continue to do so as long as the Justice Dept. and the IRS are gutless to call him to account.

No surprises here!
