I saw a report about an internal GOP poll. Exact numbers weren't given but the implication seemed to be that Terrell was up by "a couple" points.

If I needed a reason to vote for Terrell, the Republicans
gave me one with a windshield flyer detailing Landrieu's
voting record on 2nd amendment issues. She is just to the left of Sarah Brady! Voted to retain gun purchase records among other transgressions.

"However, I don't believe that the people of Louisiana will tolerate such outrageous behavior from a Senatorial candidate."

IF THEY (La electorate) KNOW ABOUT THIS BEHAVIOR!!

Now that Drudge has taken up this issue, I think it's going to be the talk of the town tomorrow. Drudge has a photo of Mary and the big headline:

'THREAT' MADE IN LOUISIANA SENATE RACE: LANDRIEU WARNS OPPONENT 'THIS IS YOUR LAST CAMPAIGN'

I personally have made calls to local talk show hosts, and believe me, it's going to be talked about tomorrow. Some of us have also sent this info to Rush in hopes that he'll talk about it on his radio show. Mary put her foot in her mouth once too often, and her arrogant, threatening statement to Suzie will soon be known all over Louisiana and the nation.

Of course, as you might expect, the NRA has endorsed Suzie. Mary is a liberal pretending to be a moderate. On to victory for Suzie!

Hey newslady,
Do you mean Andre and David Tyree? This could be a very interesting topic for discussion for them!

you'd think the RATs would have scripted some different plays,

They don't have enough imagination to come up with a different set of plays.

Go Terrell!!

I don't think that was a threat on her life.

From a sitting U.S. Senator, Landrieu's statement is far more than an idle comment. Powerful people ... have powerful friends.

Has there been an examination of the "mansion" in which the Snellingses live in the D.C. area? This was purchased when Senator Landrieu first came to Washington. She probably thought that she had been named "senator for life" when first elected because in LA history a sitting senator is almost never defeated for reelection. Would her defeat cause them to sell the mansion and return to LA? I do not know what is the occupation of Mr. Snellings.

I don't think that was a threat on her life. I think she was just being spiteful and telling her the equivalent of " you will never have lunch in kthis state again",,but hey, if we wanta play it up as a threat, I guess we can.

I would opine that she spoke a threat in plain English.

It may be one of the "You'll never work in Hollywood again" variety threats, but were I Suzie, I'd watch my back and not walk down any dark streets.

Regardless, best of luck to Suzie on election day.

It doesn't really sound like a threat to me. Seems like she was implying "You're going to lose this election and then your political career will be over." However it seems like quite a wild stretch to read this as a threat of bodily harm. Typical Drudge Sunday pre-radio show hype, IMHO.

He's an attorney... not sure who with up that way..... here's some info on the just about completed mansion

DUNCAN SPENCER New Landrieu-Snellings home

It’s taken nearly four years to custom-build a large brick mansion for Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) and her lawyer-builder husband, Frank Snellings, and their two young children, Connor and Mary Shannon.

But the Snellings-Landrieu home will be a Capitol Hill showplace, neighbors agree. In fact, it’s expected to become a kind of embassy for the state of Louisiana in the 400 block of East Capitol Street. It is now close to completion, though tight-lipped owner and project manager Snellings declined to comment about their ambitious architectural effort. (The family has lived in a rented row house nearby during the long construction process.)

Its cost also remains a closely held number, although sources say it’s well over $1 million, in light of such delicate touches as hand-cut slates, copper roof work, stone lintels and much top-of-the-line custom carpentry. Snellings took over as contractor shortly after the walls started to rise, donning a hard hat and spending many hours at the site. He earned a reputation as an exacting boss who took great pains to perfect every aspect of the house. The designer is a New Orleans architect, David Waggoner.

The only hope Landrieu now has, is if the Democrats not only vote the last 5 years dead in New Orleans, but more like the last TWENTY-five!

PS Isn't there something the Republican national org can do to prevent this vote fraud and theft from taking place?

corrupt mayor of New Orleans

Actually I do not know if Maurice "Moon" Landrieu was corrupt. If he were corrupt, would GA Jimmy, the saint, have put him in his Cabient at HUD? Moon was just ultraliberal before ultraliberal was cool in LA Democrat circles. A predecessor to Landrieu was the Democrat Mayor de Lesseps S. "Chep" Morrison. He was considered very liberal in the context of the 1950s and early 1960s. Today, were he living, Morrison (an early supporter of JFK and LBJ) would probably be a "conservative" Democrat. That's how far the LA (like the TX) "democracy" has moved to the left. But I have no knowledge of corrupt practices by ex-Mayor Landrieu. Maybe, but I don't know. It may be too that Landrieu was the last white man to be mayor of New Orleans; so he could be what is sometimes called a "transitional figure" in LA politics.

Oddly, Landrieu might even be right about this being Terrell's last campaign. If Suzy is elected, she will be so popular with all groups in La., blacks included, that she will never be seriously opposed for re-election again!

Do you know if Frank Snellings' mother is the former LA Board of Education member Mary Louise Snellings of Monroe?

This is what I posted on another thread

This can be used for any issue. You can copy and use this for any purpose you want.

All gunowners should copy this letter below(add any new facts to it availible) and pass this out to all gunowners, gun clubs, sportsmen clubs, and anywhere it would be effective. I know Louisiana is not an Anti-gun state.

You can make letters like this for any issue. Not just guns.

=============================================== Dear Gunowner:

This election, Louisiana is at a crossroads. The US senate has a slim pro-2nd amendment majority. There is a lot in stake here for gunowners, sportsmen, and sportswomen, and we must closely examine our public officials' positions on our issues.

Suzanne Haik Terrell, candidate for US Senate here in Louisiana, stands up for the Second Amendment. Mary Landrieu, her opponent, is a Anti-Second Amendment.

* Landrieu voted for to ban gun shows by enforcing a three day waiting period on all gun show sales by private sellers. (May 20, 1999 - source Congressional record)

* Landrieu voted against defeating an amendment by Gun ban extremist Dianne Feinstein that would ban the importation of 11 round magazines. (7/28/1998 - Congressional record)

* Landrieu voted against a ban on charging gunowners a fee for background checks. (7/21/1998)

Suzanne Haik Terrell is pro-2nd Amendment
* She pledges to fight more restrictions on gun owners and gun purchasers.
* She pledges not to punish law abiding citizens for the actions of criminals.

Please call Terrell at (225) 218-8683, and thank her for supporting the 2nd Amendment.

Sincerely:
Me

Note: Personal endorsement not authorized or affiliated by any candidate committee, political party, or PAC.

--------------------------
I had a similar letter out for the governors race signed by two state representatives. If you can get a well known pro-gunner to sign this, then it will be even more effective.
