IMO the borders should have been closed immediately after 9/11, illegals in the country found and deported, and all measures taken by INS or any other agency to keep our borders secure. I know this sounds harsh, but if that had been done we would have been in a lot better shape by now.

I think we should have closed both the northern and southern borders using the military, immediately following 911, until all illegals were deported. However, I don't want to eliminate legal immigration forever.

As long as borders remain unchecked & open there can NEVER be any "Homeland Security." Elected officials AT ALL LEVELS need to be stop being so complacent and realize the absolute need for border security.
