Jesse Jackson stumps for Lulu - mainstream press applauds. How would they have handled this candidate if Lulu had been, horrors, a conservative instead of a Communist friend of Castro (and other international thugs and terrorists)?

If the democratic governments and citizens of the Western Hemisphere, including the Bush administration, act with realism and skill, it may be possible to reduce the harmful consequences of Mr. Lula da Silva's past decades of left-radicalism and work with Brazil to help all its citizens, including the poor, have a brighter future.

I certainly doubt it. Lula's election complicates GW's goal of creating a hemispheric free-trade zone. Lula's antagonism to free-market policies is at odds with GW. There is something wrong with people when over 60% of the population vote for a commie Castro-lover who has a total disregard for Democracy, human rights, and freedom; and whose solution of the conflict between Israel and the Arabs is for the Jewish people to find another place to live.

People are totally naive to think that a communist can bring changes to a stagnate economy, reduce unemployment and improve people's standard of living.

Lula is correct: Brazil should have a nuclear weapon.

The next congress of commies he convenes in Sao Paulo will be Ground Zero.

Bill Gertz: China secretly shipping Cuba arms

***"The Chinese are betting on Venezuela" said President Hugo Chavez, following a 4-day visit by Chinese officials, reports Caracas El Universal. "We are not just speaking empty words, but we are dealing with specific issues," Chavez exclaimed. Since Chavez's visit to Beijing in October 1999, "No less than five high-level government and private business commissions have visited [Venezuela], as well as commissions comprising local governments." Chavez said bilateral agreements were reviewed in such areas as gas and oil, as well as agriculture and mining, plus the national railroad plan.

he 14-member Chinese delegation was led by Li Ruihuan, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. After meeting with the delegation, Venezuelan National Legislative Commission president Luis Miqilena said his country, "has much to learn and receive from China. We have not only opened our heart, but also all sectors of our economy, all possibilities for hyper-development between the two countries . . ."***

"I am a Maoist"--Venezuela's President Hugo Chávez Attacks Elitism *** Mr. Chávez has described the subsequent purge of Ms. Imber and others as the start of a "Bolivarian cultural revolution," a reference to Venezuela's national hero, Simón Bolívar. But that term has generated apprehension here, especially in view of Mr. Chávez's declaration "I am a Maoist," made during the visit this month of President Jiang Zemin of China, and the agreements he has signed to bring Cuban advisers and exchange programs to Venezuela.***

Chinese Defense Minister in First Venezuela Visit*** China's Defense Minister Chi Hoatian began a four-day visit to Venezuela on Thursday to discuss ways of increasing contacts and cooperation between the two nations' armed forces, officials said. Chi, accompanied by a delegation of senior army, navy and air force officers, said in a statement that he had come to Venezuela to ``promote the development of friendly relations and military cooperation.''***

Bush certainly has his plate full. We've had the 8 previous years of failed foreign policy decisions and "under-the-rug" sweeping by Albright et al. to thank for all of this crap.

Now, besides the seeds of Clinton's failed Middle East Peace Talks and appeasement of the terrorist Palistinians, the 911 disaster and Klinton's Monica-bombing and show-of-cowardice in Somalia, the scumbag-smiling North Korean WMD proliferation-dogs (Jimmah Katuh's mess) etc., etc., etc................Now we have Marxists in South America raising their ugly heads again (ala Nicaragua in the 80's).

Sheeeessshhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!
