Somebody ought to research if there were any lynchings in West Virginia in the late 30s and early 40s when Byrd was active, and if so, start nosing around to find out if Byrd was involved. I would love to hear a reporter ask that old windbag if he ever attended a cross-burning, or a lynching, and see what he says. Maybe some of his old buddies are still around and ready to talk about it.

Maybe ol' Byrd had a hand in those church-burnings that made such an impact on Bubba.

Were they the same group who sang the '80s classic 'You Don't Have to Take Your Clothes Off [to Have a Good Time]?

We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off
Jermaine Stewart

Not a word, from your lips
You just took for granted that I want to skinny dip.
A quick hit, that's your game.
But I'm not a piece of meat, still you like my brain.
Night is young, so are we.
Let's get to know each other better, slow & easily.
Take my hand, let's hit the floor.
Shake our bodies to the music.
Maybe then you'll score.

Chorus: So come on baby, won't you show some class
Why you want to move so fast.
We don't have to take our clothes off
To have a good time
Oh no
We could dance & party all night
And drink some cherry wine
Uh huh
We don't have to take our clothes off
To have a good time
Oh no
We could dance & party all night (all night)
And drink some cherry wine
Uh huh
Na na na na na na na............

Just slow down if you want me
A man wants to be approached cool & romantically
I've got needs
Just like you
If the conversation's good
Vibrations through & through

So come on baby, won't you show some class
Why you want to move so fast
We don't have to take outr clothes off
To have a good time
Oh no
We could dance & party all night (all night)
And drink some cherry wine
Uh huh
Na na na na na na.........

Repeat until fade.............

Grant had some of the best nicknames for people in public office. Mario Cuomo was "Il Supremo" and "The Svacheem" (probably spelled wrong, but it is loosely translated on the Italian word for "genetically inferior"), Ed Koch was "Edward I," and David Dinkins was "The Men's Room Attendant."

It wouldn't be like him to miss out on a big event. If they had them in WV, he would have been there.

You can go to Kazaa and download several cuts of "Dancin' in the Sheets" by Shalamar. Shalamar also had other dance hits: "Night to Remember", Make That Move", and "The Second Time Around".

Well, then I DO stand corrected. BTW, what's a "Shalamar"?

I am not sure what a Shalamar is other than the rock group's name. There is a Shalimar region in the Himalayas, or there abouts any way.

However, Shalimar by Guerlain, is also THE best parfum that a woman can wear!

Grant had some of the best nicknames for people in public office.

Another good one was "Flim Flam Florio", for former NJ Gov. Jim Florio

And he calls Sen. Lautenberg the Viper.

LOL. I know he used to call Lautenberg "The Louse," but that was back during his first go-around as a senator.

Rush's recordings have been hilarious and right on the mark. Skewering the dems with the truth. Anything funnier than Daschle's talk show callers......and of course, Daschle's thrill at the bad economy was perfect.

But truly, his picking up on the Tip O'Neil 'sheets' comment will be with us for a long long time!
