HAT FR Meeting Minutes (Saturday, 14 December 2002, Houston, TX)
15 December 2002 | PetroniDE

Posted on 12/15/2002 5:20:18 AM PST by PetroniDE

The latest meeting of the HAT FR chapter was held on Saturday, 14 December 2002. Even though this meeting was held one week earlier than usual because of the Christmas holiday, this meeting marks the one year anniversary of the HAT FR chapter. The meeting was held at the residence of PetroniDE.

The meeting began with Cralo3b distributing copies of The Clinton Legacy Cookbook. Watch for reviews of certain recipes during 2003. Yummy Yummy.

The largest project at this time is the "Vet Project". We are in the process of obtaining official volunteer status for this group. According to Dix, there is still an unresolved issue regarding our optimal role. It appears that this optimal role is facilitator. BobbyD to contact COB1 regarding setting up a weekday evening for an advance meeting. PetroniDE volunteered to accompany group for this meeting.

Flyer has been busy with two issues. He has done some homework regarding getting a street named after former President Ronald Reagan. He has contacted City Councilmen regarding necessary procedures. More information at the next meeting. Meanwhile, he has started a chapter website. This website will concentrate on local issues and be used as a recruiting tool for FRN. Pages of this website are still under construction. The chapter will continue to use the FRN website. Website address: www.houstonliberty.com

Dix has been in contact with the group Texans for Immigration Reform. Dix to provide more information at the next meeting.

PetroniDE distributed information regarding the Metro bond issue. An internal memo on the Houston Chronical website was accidently posted and captured by the Houston Review website. PetroniDE intends to work the 2003 municipal elections.

RikaStrom mentioned possibility of road trip to Austin for the next Glocktoberfest, so that other chapters may get involved. It was suggested at the meeting to include sufficient lead time for an event when road travel is required. Preliminary plans are for the next Glocktoberfest in late March/early April (avoiding the Easter holiday).

We had two liberal democat disruptors. Yes, I spelled "democat" correctly. Pointy ears, four legs, bushy tail, sharp teeth, and under the influence of catnip. One of them offered to pose for pictures.

Next meeting returns to our usual 3rd Saturday of the month, 18 January 2003 at 3:00 pm. Location T.B.A.
