You too?

Apparently this is someone you didn’t like, and that is fine, but that doesn’t make me him. I heard the rumors yesterday, and if you want to think that, fine. I wish I knew who this person was, because he apparently got your goat pretty well.

Who will I be next week? You guys are funny.

I hope Lott retires, McCain switches to independant and the RATS shove the Pelosi agenda down our throats. This is why I left the GOP before, because it's the party of self sabotage.

Maybe you should have switched to the democrat side since you seem to prefer a party where character doesn't count.

The republicans are toast now! Kiss the win goodbye, they don't even listen to the blacks in the party.

I'm voting for McCain if Lott retires.

This may be interesting. Nickles may have fired his silver bullet prematurely. There's no indication that there is an overwhelming sentiment for Lott to be ousted. In fact, it seems they were willing to let him work this out himself.

Now, Nickles, in a blatant attempt to forward his own career, steps out on his own.

Nickles has always been a bit reckless and unpolished.

This could blow up in his face, with Lott winning.

Lott is toast in less than 72 hours. Lott leaves the Senate in less than two weeks. The Dims will have control of the Senate sometime in the middle of the next Spring.

He isn't a racist as JC Watts said and Jesse Lee Peterson said so it comes to the fact republicans are toast!

Nobody is calling him a racist, they're calling him a boob.

But the chorus is still same, whether it's the Democrats calling him a racist or the Republicans calling him stupid, all the American people are hearing is a lot of noise, and a noise that the Republicans have helped to broadcast.

Do you trust John McCain ? He is already planning a run as independant unless Nickles gives him everything he wants he bolts the party and declares his candidacy immediately. Knowing McCain he will spite the GOP no matter what Nickles offers him. This is going to be interesting I hope Lott stands his ground.

This administration will squander the good-will and trust of many loyal Republicans (plus swing vote) if Lott stays

Complete baloney. We need to keep the Senate at 51-49, not 50-50. Power-sharing is a huge deal. Why do I get the impression that if what you proposes happens and the Dems tie up the Senate, you and your fellow purist will be whining and moaning about how 'Moderate Jorge' didn't accomplish anything conservative? Why make it that more easier for the Dems to use procedure to block needed reforms, budget cuts, tax cuts, judicial confirmations, etc.?

And if Lott retires and McCain switches to Independant than what ? Than we have two more years of Dashle. Brilliant move neo-cons

Are you calling Lott and McCain Neo-Cons? After all in your scenario, they would be the ones taking the harmful actions to our party. Fix the blaime where it belongs. Lott said it, Lott was totally in denial that he did anything wrong, Lott totally mis-managed the entire crisis. He's toast but he doesnt quite get it yet.

It shows that you don't listen to the blacks on our side already. What makes you think you will ever reach any of the that are now outside the party! LOL

I do listen to the blacks on our side. I am one of the blacks on our side. I listen to Rice and Powell, who when asked, refused to support Lott.

Oh, I listen fine.

"Is that really how you want to be remembered, as the man who did the most to harm the Republican party since Richard Nixon?"

In that scenario, Nixon would be the classier man, as he ultimately did what was BEST for his PARTY.

Good point!!

Sen. Kyl said on Phoenix radio this week that he wouldn't
be surprised to see Lott resign his SEAT, if he loses
ML job.

Kyl has a good feel for what's in Lott's head. He said
Lott wouldn't want to hang around 50 colleagues who just
dumped him.

Lott is toast in less than 72 hours.

Congress doesn't reconvene until the first week of January. It is logistically impossible for anything to happen before then.

Lott gets challenged, the majority of GOP senators will vote for ANYONE else, Lott loses, Lott quits, MS Gov (a Dem) appoints a Dem, it's 50-50 again, and Lincoln Chaffee switches (or McCain votes with the Dems).

So, when does Daschle take the reins again? January?

Twice the electorate tries to create a GOP Senate, and twice the GOP finds a way to lose. The GOP... the Cincinnati Bengals of world politics.

(Let's see who we can thank... Jeffords for switching... Lott for "power-sharing"... Ashcroft for not standing up against the appointment of the Widder Carnahan in 2000... SCONJ for gross injustice and not recusing themselves when the sent $$ to The Torch's and to Lautenberg campaigns... Tim Hutchison for picking exactly the right moment to drop his wife for his hottie... Thune for not challenging SD... Hawaii for electing a dead woman for Senator (or were they allowed the last-minute switch,too?)... Zell for not switching like many of Georgia's other right-minded representatives... McCain and/or Chaffee for undermining their party and their constituents for their own ambitions... Lott, again, for repeating his poorly chosen words... Lott, yet again, for putting his wounded pride above his party...

Every time, it's JUUUUUUST enough to keep Daschle the Obstructionist in control of keeping America soft, weak, and dependent. Thanks, all.)
